Chapter 452: Taming His Monster

Malik carried the sleeping girl back inside. He was so immersed in telling his story that he forgot about her recovery process. 

His heart ached every time she wept for him. To his dismay, she clung to him when he needed to get away. Thinking about his past always placed him in a situation he couldn't easily get out of.

The monster within was threatening to escape from its leash. He kept taking deep breaths trying to keep himself in check. Eventually, he couldn't contain it and left it free.

Malik's eyes turned the deepest shade of red as his feet walked swiftly. No sound was made even as he stepped around with all his weight. 

His eyes glared at the girl laying in his arms. When he rested her on his bed, he kept praying for his monster not to cause her any harm before he was completely shut out. 

In place of the gentle and caring man was now a cruel and bloodthirsty creature. His heart was cold but his touch wasn't.
