Thunder rumbled in the sky as lightning flashed by from time to time. Despite the hot temperature, it was pelting heavily.

Unlike the normal rain in other realms, the water was akin to acid that could easily corrode the skin. Amelia felt exhausted as she peeled her eyes open.

She couldn't tell the time of the day. She has been falling in and out of consciousness since Muntaha took her as his prisoner.

She couldn't complain about it because she took the initiative to get herself there. Her only regret was not seeing him.

She misses him every time she is conscious enough to think. He meant a lot to her. It took her this long to make up her mind about him.

The saddest bit of it all was that she couldn't even say his name. Her father made it his business to haunt her sleep and probe her memories just to find her weaknesses.
