Lucifer was amused as he watched one of the most renowned wizards of all time pat a horse in apparent affection, apparently due to all the wards placed around the castle they had to travel the distance between Hogsmeade and Hogwarts by horse.

And when Lucifer had asked Salazar why they couldn't simply fly using brooms, he could have sworn that the bald man had pouted before going on a tirade that variation was a much-needed factor to traveling and that he shouldn't get too reliant on magic to solve all his issues.

Lucifer had simply snorted in amusement as he watched his master try and articulate an argument when he obviously just wanted to go horse riding.

"Pick any horse of your choosing apprentice! they are all well-bred mare´s that have been handed only the best mother magic has to offer!" Salazar proudly waved his hands towards the stables, clearly taking a great measure of pride in the selection of horses he could offer.

Lucifer was just about to do just that when he heard a rumble from beside him, turning to his familiar he saw what he could have sworn was a possessive look as the lion gestured for him to get on its back.

Lucifer smirked in amusement as he walked up to Shiro, evaluating if his familiar had reached an appropriate size to actually fill the role as a mount.

"Hmmm you have most definitely grown from the little kitten you once was haven't you, my sweet Shiro" he cooed as he ran his fingers through the lion's soft white fur.

Shiro rubbed against his master's hand in obvious enjoyment at the attention it was receiving, its mind was taken away from the jealousy it had felt at the idea of his master choosing another animal to serve his needs instead of itself.

Shiro chuffed at the thought that such an ugly beast could ever replace itself as his master's favored animal.

"Ah, if you're going to ride your familiar you will need an appropriate saddle! luckily I have some rather interesting ones that I acquired from Persia on one of my travels!" Salazar exclaimed as he excitedly disappeared into the shed next to the stables.

Shiro ignored the man's antics as he continued to enjoy the attention his master was lavishing it with, his chest rumbled as Lucifer scratched that sweet spot behind his ear.

Salazar came back with a large black saddle with crimson straps floating behind him, his eyes twinkling as he couldn't wait to give his apprentice another gift!

Lucifer observed the floating saddle, completely ignoring his approaching master as he took in the strange material the saddle seemed to made out of.

"Say, Salazar, this saddle doesn't seem to made out of leather?" he questioned as he walked up to said item in question, reaching out and running his hands through the soft silky material the saddle was made out of.

Salazar´s already smug look seemingly only got smugger as he folded his arms and adopted what Lucifer would later affectionately call his 'Lecturer mode'

"That's because it most definitely isn't made by any common material Lucifer! this is made from a very very rare type of silk that only the imperial family of Persia produces!" Salazar's eyes took on a rather childish glint as he continued "The silkworm is one of Persia´s national treasures as it goes through enough rituals and extravagant magical resources that it would make even kings green with envy!"

Lucifer took on an intrigued look as he questioned "But what differentiates the silk produced from that silkworm from any other silkworm?"

Salazar scoffed "The difference between them is as far as heaven and earth my disciple! this silk comes out woven with natural magic that not only makes this silk a prime material to use for crafting but also makes this silk one of the sturdiest things even I have seen!"

Salazar grabbed hold of the saddle as he carried it carefully toward Shiro, only pausing long enough for Shiro to give a growl of permission as he lay the saddle on the felines back.

Lucifer observed baffled as the saddle seemingly unraveled into thousands of gorgeous black threads of silks as it seemingly wove itself into a saddle perfect for Shiro's body build!

"Go on Lucifer, give it a go" Salazar almost shooed him towards the large cat in excitement, ready to get going towards the castle.

Lucifer walked up to the now standing Shiro, his eyes examining how the saddle almost seemed part of his familiar at how tightly woven it was to its back.

"Ready buddy?" Lucifer grinned as Shiro roared in excitement at the new way they could have fun, waiting no longer, he smoothly leaped onto its back and quickly felt why the saddle was something that Salazar was excited over as he felt like he was stuck sitting on the most comfortable chair ever!

But how was he supposed to star you may ask?

The familiar link took care of that issue as Shiro easily could feel Lucifer´s intentions and fulfilled them accordingly by exploding into a full-on sprint, easily leaving the shook Salazar in the dust behind them.

"WAIT UP APPRENTICE" Salazar lost all sense of decency as he leaped onto his own steed and started galloping after his rampant student, as he tried catching up to the unfairly fast feline Lucifer´s laugh rang through the wind as the devil truly enjoyed the newly found activity.

It took them only twenty minutes to reach the gates of Hogwarts at the speed they were going, Lucifer sat there atop his lion with a wide smile as he took in the fantastical view of Hogwarts school of magic and wizardry.

He took in every detail as he grudgingly admitted that Hogwarts put his own castle to shame in its beautiful splendor and grand towers. but his pride demanded him to use this as inspiration and construct a castle that made Hogwarts look like a common household!

He chuckled as he sat there musing, waiting for his master to catch up as he and Shiro might have gotten a little bit ahead of themselves in the initial rush of their first ride.

It turned out that he and Shiro had underestimated how fast they had been going as they had to wait a full thirty minutes for his master to come bursting through the tree line, looking haggard and exhausted with his horse foaming at the mouth.

"Never do that again you inconsiderate bastard!" Salazar moaned as he slid off the mare, instantly collapsing onto the ground as he grumbled curses while rubbing his sore thighs.

Lucifer grinned when he caught the mumbled "Never another heir for the noble house of Slytherin after that ride, that for fucking sure" and his grin turned into snickers as he saw the tears pooling in his master's eyes.

After a few minutes, Salazar seemed to remember that he was a master healer, so with a swift accio and potion later he was as good as new.

He stared at the clearly exhausted horse that almost looked dying, then sneakily compared it to the ivory Lion that his apprentice was sitting on, lamenting on the unfairness as the feline looked barely winded as it hungrily looked at his prized horse.

Lucifer caught his master's concerned look and nudged Shiro towards the mare behind Salazar, a teasing grin stretched across his fair features as he watched Salazar plead for his horse's life.

After a bit of shenanigans and getting Salazar to promise Shiro a live Re'em in exchange for his horse's life, they set off towards Hogwarts gates.

Lucifer with an expectant look in his eyes at the endless opportunities his stay would offer him. Shiro with drool running at the thought of the delicious new meat it would soon receive from the snake man.

Said snake man walked his exhausted horse through the gates with a bleeding heart as he considered the absolute loss he was taking in having to track down a Re'em for the greedy lion.
