Chapter 27: 27. The runaway

The clicking sound woke me up from my sleep. I realised I slept last night while making the weapon. There was a guard standing at the bar with a plate in his hand. Next to him was a trolley full of plates. I slowly stood into a sitting position and rubbed my eyes.

"Why did you break the plate?" The guard asked.

I looked around for the piece that I was working on. I found it beside me. I slowly pulled the piece under my leg and gather the rest of the pieces together.

"I didn't like the food, so I broke the plate." I said nonchalantly like a brat.

"Where do you think you are? In a restaurant?" He said.

I ignored him and stood up. Carefully, I managed to keep the piece in my back pocket and took the remaining pieces to the guard.

"Here you can have it." I said and took the plate of food from him.

Before he could leave, I stopped him and asked.

"What can we get every month?" I asked.
