Chapter 50: Bakugo Vs Stain

Stain's gaze bore an intensity that sent shivers down the spine; he had now amassed all the critical information regarding his foe, Bakugo. However, the same couldn't be said for Bakugo, who remained in the dark about Stain's quirk.

'Ida has been neutralized for a while now , he can't move for some reason, from the looks of it, his legs are pretty fine, he hasn't received a singular fetal injury, that means it's a quirk's effect, some sort of neutralization quirk, he hasn't used it on me yet though, does that mean it needs a specific thing to be applied or is it only possible to apply it to one person ? if so why keep it on ida now that he is facing me -'

Mulling over his predicament, Bakugo swiftly evaded Stain's knife assault by veering to the left. With his left hand primed for an explosive attack aimed at Stain's face, he soon realized its futility as Stain clamped onto his forearm, diverting the blast's trajectory. Before Bakugo could retaliate with his right hand, Stain deftly transformed his initial stab into a slashing motion aimed squarely at Bakugo's midsection. This compelled Bakugo to utilize the explosive power of his feet to create distance.

Yet, he couldn't break free entirely, for Stain's grip on his forearm persisted. Now, though, the increased distance allowed Bakugo to employ his right hand for an explosive counterattack. To his astonishment, Stain had anticipated this move, and his knife was already homing in on Bakugo's right hand, poised for a penetrating strike directly to his hand

"Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Amidst searing agony, Bakugo gathered his resolve and shouted, "You think this will stop me !!! fuck youuuu"

Rather than succumbing to defeat, he leaped upward, extending both feet towards Stain's face with an explosive burst of power, hurtling the villain straight into the alleyway's wall.

Stain's head began to bleed, and his face bore the scars of severe third degree burns, yet a sinister smile remained as he declared, "Now, I have you."

Fueled by anger, Bakugo retorted, "Losing a hand Isn't enough to stop me"

In a solemn tone, Stain responded, "I'm not so worthless that I would undermine a genuine hero like you in this manner, but....you've now given me the key to defeating you"

Stain wielded his knife, drawing it close to his lips and licking it.

Instantly, Bakugo crumpled to the ground, the chilling realization hitting him like a ton of bricks: 'His quirk activates after licking his enemy's blood, that's why he risked taking all of that damage, Shit'

Leaving the immobilized Bakugo behind, Stain made his way towards Ida. Though Ida was no longer paralyzed, he posed less of a threat than Bakugo. As anticipated, Stain swiftly dealt with him. Ida had risen to the occasion and charged, having learned from observing Bakugo's battle. He attempted to flee with Bakugo and Native, but Stain outmaneuvered him, forcefully pinning him to the ground.

"Now, I shall complete my mission. All impostors will be vanquished, and with your demise, true heroes shall emerge," Stain proclaimed with grim determination.

In the midst of preparing to strike at both Ida and the incapacitated Native, once again his schemes were thwarted. This time, an unforeseen factor emerged, introducing a new element into the fray.

A colossal wall of ice surged forth, creating a formidable barrier that separated him from his intended targets. Before he could formulate a recovery plan, a torrent of flames surged towards him, leaving him with no recourse but to hastily exit the alleyway until the blaze subsided.

Amid Ida's continued distress, he gazed at the newfound arrival and exclaimed, "Sho-- Shoto!! Why are you here?"

Surveying the situation with a hint of annoyance, Shoto responded, "Believe it or not, I received a message from someone instructing me to reach this location as soon as possible."

Growing frustrated with the circumstances, Bakugo interjected, "Damn, what took you so long, you bastard?"

It was at this point that Ida pieced together the identity of the sender of that message—it was Bakugo himself. Even before embarking on his skirmish, Bakugo had already dispatched a call for reinforcement, should the need arise. Inwardly grappling with his emotions, Ida acknowledged, "Bakugo...and now Shoto. I let down my friends, my family's legacy, my duty as a hero, and most painfully, my brother. My thoughts were consumed by irrational anger,I didn't even consider calling for back up, I'm such a failure"

Shoto surged towards Stain, who had retreated back into the alley. Contrasting Bakugo, who shared similarities with him in terms of close-quarters combat, Shoto specialized in long-range engagements. He alternated between sending forth flames and erecting ice barriers, effectively keeping Stain at bay and protecting Bakugo, Ida, and Native.

"Hey Four eyes, Get up now it's not over, I may be incapacitated now, but you are not, help half n half over there and beat the shit out of that guy for me, and enough with this self pity bullshit, you fucked up so what, just get over it and become better, wallowing it your self pity ain't changing Shit, come on, Shoto can't hold him forever, Stain is very good at beating people that rely on their quirks too much !"

Stirred by Bakugo's unexpected encouragement, Ida regained his footing with renewed determination. His gaze locked onto the adversary before them—Stain. This time, vengeance was not the motive; the goal was to apprehend the villain and ensure justice prevailed.

As Bakugo had foreseen, Shoto's quirk was short-lived. Despite his grievous injuries, Stain nimbly evaded both Shoto's flames and icy constructs, closing in on the young hero with intent to strike. However, just before the blow could land, it was Ida's moment to shine. He swiftly intervened, delivering a powerful kick that caught Stain off guard, his remarkable speed leaving the villain astonished.

"you think you can pretend to play Hero now ? a person's true self doesn't change in minutes, you are the filth that that is infecting out society, Die" Shouted Stain

Acknowledging the harsh truth, Ida responded, "You're correct. I was merely putting on an act to serve my own interests. I'm no genuine hero. Nonetheless, even in that awareness, I won't permit you to harm these three. I won't yield, because if I do, the name Ingenium will Die!"
