Chapter 41: Chapter Thirty-Nine

The sooner the better.

That was Winslow's mantra as he drove over to Callum's place. It might become obvious to callum that he had followed right behind Aine for their meeting. But there was an urgency in him that didn’t allow him to wait for a day or two.

His gut was speaking. And the most important rule of being a police officer?

You never ignored your gut.

He stopped his car in front of Callum's place and brought the cup of coffee he had stopped for on the way there to his lips.

This had to end. All of it simply had to end. And it was going to end on his terms, or his name wasn't Winslow Simon. And on that vow he got out and made his way to Callum's apartment.

He saw the surprise register in Callum's eyes when he opened door and then the comprehension,

"I suppose Aine spoke to you."

"I suppose you could say that. Is Rhoda in?" callum regarded him for a moment, before finally shrugging, then moving away from the door,
