Two high school best friends, attending classes like they use to on a normal day.
At lunch break, Henry went to get a coffee drink from a vending machine. Marvel, his best friend was coincidentally passing by. Marvel who has always been mischievous by nature hid at the corner waiting for Henry to come closer.
Henry got the his coffee and was just approaching the corner when Marvel jumped out of the corner and snatched the coffee from his hand.
For a moment, everything was at a standstill... They both stared at each other not understanding what had just happened, After a couple of seconds, Henry jumped towards Marvel to catch him. Upon seeing Henry jumping towards him, Marvel took off.
Marvel was always more agile than Henry, so Henry couldn't catch up. After running a couple of minutes, Marvel decided to stop and give Henry back his drink before they both went back to classes.
A couple of days passed. They were both arguing about superheroes movies on their way home. Marvel just like his name preferred Marvel movies while Henry preferred DC movies, they argued for hours at a comic book store because they never gave in to the other.
Out of the blue, Marvel noticed a strange man pass them, he couldn't tell what exactly but all the nerves in his body was not right with that man. He told Henry they should follow the man, but Henry said it was getting late and they should be going home.
'My mom is definitely going to have my head for this', he said as he finally agreed to Marvel's convincing.
'Stop being such a drama queen, what is life without a bit of adventure', Marvel replied.
'Yeah, right? How many times do you think that has killed people in movies', Henry said apprehensively .
Marvel laughed, 'That is why they are movies, stop being so pessimistic'.
'You do know you are going to get us killed one day', Henry said.
'I know', Marvel said as he smiled.
They quickly followed after the man before they lost sight of him.
After a couple of minutes, they arrived at their school, they looked at themselves surprisingly.
Still silently following the man, The man arrived at the place Marvel snatched Henry's coffee a couple of days ago. His finger turned into a flash drive which he inserted into the the wall. A panel popped out beside. He opened what looks like a laptop, and started typing. A rift suddenly appeared in the middle of the corridor. Little by little, it seems he was patching the tear up.
A bullet came out of no where and hit the strange man. His body began to glitch like it was a game. Marvel could feel a nostalgic feeling from the rift as he got closer to investigate. Without knowing he kept getting closer to the rift.
Henry was still shaking from everything happening. After getting stabilized, he looked at Marvel, who suddenly started get sucked in by the rift. He ran towards him. Grabbing the vending machine close by and stretching his arm out till the he caught Marvel's hand too. Some seconds later the sucking finally stopped.
They both look at each other and gave a sigh of relief. "I'm never trusting your guts again", Henry told Marvel. As Marvel kept heavily breathing and finally screamed, "That was fun". They both looked at where the dead body was, both it wasn't there no more.
