Chapter 9: 9. A date?

(A/N: Sorry i took so long to update. The chapter kept getting deleted and i eventually gave up. Anyways, hope you enjoy)

Yuki looked at Sam in confusion, he didn't understand why he was upset at all.

Shrugging his shoulders, Yuki stood up and began to undo his apron. His unpaid work was done for the day.

As Yuki hung his apron, he saw the back door of the cafe open. Yuki looked over and saw Yuki Isabelle entering.

He waved at her from a distance and began to approach. A few thoughts went through his head as he thought about what would happen.

He didn't know how he would go about talking to Isabelle at all. The hadn't even talked before this.

It wasn't that Yuki was shy. He was inexperienced.

"Hey." Yuki greeted.

"Hi." Isabelle responded.

"Are you ready to leave?" Yuki asked. He decided that he might as well be get his over and done with.

"Yeah." Isabelle confirmed.

"Alright then, let's go." Yuki said as he opened the door for her.

He checked his back pockets for his money pouch on his way out before breaking out into a smile. He figured that he should buy himself some clothes too.

Yuki and Isabelle failed to notice the eyes of a smirking brother watching them (A\N: Feels like a pimp)

...

Yuki managed to make some conversation with Isabelle along the way. It didn't take long for laughs to escape the duo as the made their way to the Northeast district.

Yuki basically had Isabelle act as a tour guide for him. He made sure to keep track of places he found interesting.

He couldn't help but smile as they walked. He couldn't help but wonder if every date was supposed to be this peaceful.

Isabelle found Yuki took a few glances at Yuki and smile. She found many good points about him as walked.

Apart from his looks, Yuki had quite the personality. He was funny, and the way he was curious about everything he came across made him seem cute.

She wouldn't mind going on another date with him.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the clothing shops. Yuki happened to be looking into a store when Isabelle pulled him into another one.

"Not that one, the owner always tries to scam people." Isabelle whispered when she saw his confused look.

Yuki was surprised for a bit but quickly forgot about it. His attention was turned to the hand Isabelle was holding.

It seemed like Isabelle didn't mind, so he didn't say anything about. He turned his attention to the store he was walking into.

It looked like one of the more popular stores in the area since he saw more customers.

Yuki was brought out of his thoughts when he felt Isabelle's grip loosening. It was then he heard her greeting what lookes to be one of the clerks in the shops.

'She's probably a regular customer.' Yuki thought as he approached them.

"And who is this? Your new boyfriend?" the clerk asked with a grin.

"Hi, my name is Yuki. I'm friends with her brother." Yuki introduced himself with a smile. He didn't want to cause any misunderstandings.

"Oh? Nice to meet you, Yuki. My name is Ayase." Ayase said as she reached out to shake Yuki's hand.

Yuki smiled as he met the gesture halfway.

"Quite the looker too." Ayase added as she scanned him.

"Ayase!" Isabelle groaned.

"Hai, hai. So, who's doing the shopping today?" Ayase waved off the previous issue as she asked.

"I am." Isabelle said.

"I'd also like to get a few things." Yuki added.

For some reason, he got a look of confusion from Isabelle. "The only clothes I have are hand-me-downs from the people at the cafe." Yuki explained.

Isabelle remembered what her brother told her about Yuki.

At first, she didn't believe it. Afterall, what kind of idiot would go all the way to another town without a change of clothes. It was only after Yuki told the others that he had run away from home did they believe the conditions they found him in made sense.

"Oh, why wouldn't you have clothes of your own?" Ayase asked, her interest piqued.

Yuki promptly told her his 'backstory'. He could just tell from her expression that she wouldn't have let the matter go.

As Ayase finished listening to Yuki's story, she couldn't help realising a sigh of melancholy.

"You remind me of myself once, way back when I was young." Ayase reminisced about her past.

"I'm sorry for making things weird." Yuki said when he noticed her mood.

"No no, it's fine. I'm glad to know someone made the same choices as I did." Ayase said as her mood quickly recovered.

"You know what, how about I give you a discount on whatever clothes you're buying?" Ayase made an offer.

"Are you serious? Are you sure it's alright to do that?" Yuki asked, he wasn't sure if this world had the concept of employee discounts and the like.

"Of course." Ayase said as she let out proud smile

"Then thank you." Yuki said with a smile. He wasn't going to reject the offer since he was already low on cash.

"It's no problem at all." Ayase said with the demeanour of an older sister.

Yuki was completely unaware of the expressions of shock on Isabelle and the other regular customers' faces after hearing what Ayase said.

'That stingy woman is giving someone a discount!?'
