Chapter 36: Chapter 32
The fleet of the Empire came wreaking havoc and thundering down on the formation of the Imperium fleet. The fleet of the Imperium has all its ships turn on and mount a defensive.
The enemy attacked them on the most crucial time while they're deploying the troops on the planet. If they'll only focus on one aspect then the chances of them losing the other aspect increases exponentially.
They've already deployed a couple of million troops via airborne paratroopers and the aiborne armored insertion methods. These troops are still dependent on their orbital bombing support as the fighters and starfighters are doing their best to achieve air superiority.
"Divide the fleet in half! Perform planetary cordon, have the other half surround the planet. We'll sally out and meet the enemy." ordered the Lord Admiral calmly to the staff and officers who immediately complied, doing their assigned jobs and relaying orders.
"More than 30 of those spearhead looking ships, interesting." said the inquisitor who just nodded while looking at the gigantic fleet coming towards them.
The Imperium fleet changed formations and surrounded the whole planet,creating a cordon like defensive formation to keep anyone out of the planet and in the planet.
On the planet itself, the continuous stream of transport ships soared through the sky. The Imperial soldiers of the planets holed up on strongholds and their main headquarters as they held on and readied for a siege.
On the main headquarters the soldiers was at a high alert. They managed to contact the fleet who just arrived and they got the news from them that the home defense fleet seemingly vanished out of thin air, as if it's magic.
Hearing this information they deliberately followed any orders of the new fleet that just arrived as it introduced themselves as one of the main fleets of the Empire.
"Get the blaster rifles! Ready the armored transports and tanks!" shouted the commander of the headquarters as he barked orders after orders to his officers and staff.
At thus moment what looks like a scout has came with an urgent message from the front lines.The scout stopped for a brief moment and catched his breath as he reported something.
"Your excellency, they're building what looks like ditches!" said the scout as he gave photographs he got to the commander.
The commander picked up the photographs and looked at it to see what's the ditches the scout's been talking about.
What he saw was a long narrow excavated groumd that runs miles surrounding their current position on all sides. It has what looked like as sandbags and machine gun installations as the commander tried his best to rcecall where have he seen this type of military structure.
"Trenches!" exclaimed the commander in shock and surprise. He finally remembered where he saw the military structure in the photos. It's something only worked on the olden days as they're still using weak weapons compared to now.
"Are their brain defective? A trench warfare on this day and age is unorthodox and will surely wouldn't work!" said the commander as he clutched the photos in his hand.
"Order the artillery brigades to bomb them all day! Don't give them time to rest! But sure, I'll humour them with this trench warfare" chuckled the commander

On the space of planet...
"Full speed!" the voice of the Supreme Commander of the Imperial fleet sounded on the deck of his flagship.
His flagship is a majestic star destroyer bigger than normal. It measures 2 kilometers in length and has advance technologies such as energy shields, weaponry, and many more.
His fleet has a great amount of star destroyers as they charged on the lines of the Imperium battlefleet, wrecking havoc on a distance.
TIE fighters exited the hangars of the fleet of the Empire was it formed a glorious squadron that charged at the Imperium battlefleet.
The same glorious strafighters also took off from the hangars. A dogfight in space involving more than half million strafughyers from both sides combined first clashed as the battleships followed there after.
Laser fires after laser fires shot out from the cannons from the TIE fighters as it engaged the Imperium starfighters in combat.
The Imperium starfighters fought back as they fulfilled the purpose of the TIE fighters, they made it an environmentally friendly coffin as fighter after fighter exploded without sound.
The Supreme Commander grew a pair of balls as he challenged the Imperium battleships on a boarding action. He thought that if he can at least capture one intact then he'll be awarded immensely by the emperor. He didn't thought much of the TIE fighters being shot down as he knew in himself that they're really of stupid design and only is effective when they have the numerical advantage.
"Use our numerical advantage to engage the enemy on a boarding action!" Disable their engines and take that giant of a ship for our emperor!" growled the Supreme Commander as to the officers who immediately went to work.
The Imperial fleet came dangerously close to the Imperium battlefleet as they did salvo after salvo of fire to the battleships of the Imperium.
The Imperium battleships' shields sustained heavy damages as some of the ships already lost its defenses and was wide open for the enemy to directly attack their hulls.
Explosions happened on the cruisers of the wide open Imperium battleships aa they desperately fought back on the fire from all sides.
On the deck of the flagship of the Imperium battlefleet, a fierce argument has sounded across the three high rnaking officers of the Imperium.
"The enemy is better than I thought, this spearhead looking ships are clearly better than its counterparts that we fought before." chuckled the inquisitor lightly which made the other two frown with seriousness.
"We need to transfer some ships from the orbital bombing ships here as reinforcements. Some of our ships are almost already destroyed and battered heavily. The nearest battlefleet will arrive at 12 hours the most." reported the Lord Admiral as he skimmed at the reports quickly.
"Have the battered ships ram the enemy and bring them down with them if needed. The planetary deployment has almost already finished. We just need to persist for a couple more hours." said the commissar with seriousness in his voice. The battle is currently unfavorable for them as they fought on two fronts with absolutely limited resources.
"Then all we have to do is free up a front, how's that virus bombs of yours doing?" asked the inquisitor with a rather crazy maniacal smile on his face.
