As the sun singed the clouds red, Geoffrey glanced at Serena who was asleep and had her head resting on his shoulder. He smiled as a quiet contentment spread through his heart. He couldn't think of a time he'd ever been happier.
When she entered the cathedral and the song, one he never heard of, started playing, he instantly knew that it's her gift to him for their wedding. However, as each lyric was sung, he realized to his utter exhilaration and amazement that her gift was not just the song but her promise.
While her vow was being sung for the world to hear, he finally caught sight of her as she walked down the aisle escorted by her father. She was a vision in white, his gift on her neck sparkling.
I hope you don't hate these two. I mean, the characters here are feeling just as human as we are. I love them. I'm a bit biased now. I love Geoffrey, I love his character development.
Charlton you will see him from time to time, perhaps a bit rarely as the focus here are Geoffrey and Serena, their married life and their role as crown prince and princess.
You will see lots of Charlton again in volume 5 though. Hopefully I reach writing that with you still with me. Thank you for the support!
