Chapter 13: 12 || Daydreams
"I can keep going" He said with a stream of virtual blood falling from his nose. 'My body may be fine, but this is a mental scape.. all my exhaustion is in my mind' Daniel thought.
He stumbled back, still holding onto his little amount of stamina left. "I've been drained, and there is only one enemy left" Daniel smirked at his luck.
Daniel took a deep breath pushing past his mental limit and getting into a fighting stance.
"Twenty seconds max, that's my guess for how long I can hold on for." He said, with a light fog clouding his mind.
'Lance' He thought, cutting himself through the air and leaving the final lizardman with slice through his abdomen.

"Not enough?" Daniel dropped to his knees and spiralled the spear around, cutting off the feet of the lizardman.

A bright array of particle and loud ping of the notification occupied Daniel's last moments before he fainted of exhaustion.
...
"Get up!" Mazoku shouted, tipping the boy over onto his back. The boy panted and sweated, he had lost all energy left in his body.
"Yes.." Daniel said, leaving his hopeful thoughts away on the blue floor mats. "Can I have a break?" He said looking at Mazoku with dreary eyes.
The old man ignored Daniel's question and continued to teach the surrounding 'more capable' students, correcting there stances and making them follow his movements.
Daniel was eventually pushed into the back of the class, being ignored by his teacher and classmates alike. "To be expected from the weak" Daniel had depressing thoughts drilled into his head by the comments of Mazoku.
A loud bang came from the sliding paper doors behind Daniel, two tall shadows were surrounded by a bright light.
"How are you going?" One of the shadows reached over to Daniel, patting his head. The shadows walked out of the blinding light and towards old Mazoku.

Daniel shot back up, searing pain coming from the back of his head. He grasped the back of his head on instinct, trying to dull the pain.
"Ow" He said kind of half-heartedly. It didn't hurting as much as Daniel expected, and said it on pure habit.

The screen said floating in front of him. It faded away as Daniel brushed it away, still holding the back of his head.
Daniel squinted, still a little lightheaded. "I need to get out of here, I was lucky enough not getting thrown into the middle of the street" He said brushing the dirt off himself.
The surrounding cave walls shattered and the similar stranded town filled Daniel's gaze once again.
He bent his neck, making loud cracking noises come from it. "I'm tired" Daniel yawned, slurring his feet across the pavement.
