That is what friends are for
Drake Wein is 17 years old. He has brown eyes and short curly black hair. Drake mostly enjoys spending his time outdoors in the forest or the beach because he hates being in one place for a long time. Drake has always been the one to look for new adventures and to discover new places with his friends, John and Hardin. They always were together. No matter how bad things were in their friendship, they would always come back stronger and more experienced.
Drake always likes to spend his time with friends, and he thinks that other things can wait, such as personal life. Drake had dated before, and things didn't work out for him so well in his recent relationships, but that isn't the reason why Drake stopped dating. He saw that dating only brings negative emotions, so he closed himself from those emotions and decided to spend more time with his friends. Drake and Gaia always were best friends since the first moment they met each other. Their friendship is healthy in every way possible. Drake was never the person who would seek new friends. He always enjoyed spending time with those around him and being there for everyone. Drake was spending his day at the beach today sitting on his red towel, and he noticed Gaia and John coming closer to him," Hey guys, what brings you here?".
"We decided to come to you here. After all, we only noticed now that you are spending your day here", Gaia said.
"What can I say? I love the beach, and I am about to go swimming, but I prefer to wait until the water is warmer".
"Are you planning to spend your whole day on the beach?" John asked.
"No, not all of it, just until the sunset, I heard they were the best at a time like this".
"Mind if we join you?" Gaia asked.
"No, I wouldn't mind", Drake said, and Gaia sat right next to him," Well, I better be going to the water, don't want to get sunburned".
"I'm coming too", John said, and he changed his clothes into brown shorts, and both of them left Gaia alone on the sand," Drake, tell me, what is the real reason that you are here? And I know that the view isn't the only thing that you are here for".
"I don't know what you are talking about".
"Oh, come on, Drake, Gaia is far away, and she won't hear you".
"Fine, the reason I was here was to find myself a new girlfriend, and it appears that the beach is filled with them".
"If you are having trouble finding a girl, I can help you".
"I appreciate your offer John, but I think I can handle myself with finding a new girlfriend besides. How hard can it be?".
"Believe me, finding a girlfriend isn't that easy as snapping fingers, and that is coming from me".
"If I were to talk with one, would you be my wingman?".
"Sure, I can help you out like that. Besides, that is what friends are for, and don't worry, I am sure that you will do just fine on your own".
"I know that I am, but still, I haven't dated anyone since I was with Rena, and it was three months ago, so that I might be a little out of practice".
"Don't worry. Everything will turn out fine, just trust me".
"I trust you on this, but still, I have been getting weird dreams for quite some time".
"Everything will turn out fine, now let's o and get you a date".
"You want for us to go right now?".
"Yes, what better time will it be to do it? And besides, Gaia is throwing a party tonight to celebrate the start of the summer and our holidays".
"Okay, we can do that, but just not right now".
"Drake Wein, are you afraid of being rejected?".
"No, I am not afraid. Where did you get that idea anyway?".
"Well, it is pretty obvious that you are afraid, and that probably would be why you don't want to leave the water".
"Don't be ridiculous. I can leave whenever I want".
"Then do it, and besides, we need to update your look".
"What is wrong with my current one?".
"Nothing is wrong with it, but if you want to find yourself a girlfriend, you have to level up your game".
"Alright, let's go, and by the way, where is Gaia going to throw the party at?".
"Right here at this beach, and we only have few hours to get you ready for the party".
"Do you have anyone in mind who could help us on this matter?".
"I think that Claudia would be more than willing to help us".
"Claudia, really? We are going to ask for help from Claudia?".
"She is the most fashionable out of all of us, and besides, she helped you out before".
"Yeah, she did, but I am just not sure if she is the best bet on updating my look".
"Just trust me, we will make you a perfect bet for the girls".
"Alright, should I call her or will you?".
"I will call her" John and Drake left the water and were on the sand. John went for his bag, took out his phone, and selected Claudia's number," Hey Claudia".
"John, what surprise, to what do I owe the pleasure for your call?".
"We need your help on one particular matter".
"And what is that?".
"You see, Drake is having a hard time finding a girlfriend, and since you are the most fashionable person I know, maybe you could help Drake to update his look for today's party?".
"I would be happy to help out, Drake".
"Great, where are you?".
"I will be at the beach in 30 minutes, and where we would meet?".
"I think that we should meet behind the life guardhouse".
"Okay, I will meet you there, bye John" John ended the call and put his phone in the pocket of his brown shorts," All good, buddy", John said, looking positive.
"Are you sure that she knows what she is doing?".
"Yes, I am more than sure. Besides, she is the most popular girl in school, so she must know what she is doing".
"We, it's good to hear that Claudia is going to help us, but what are we going to in the meantime?".
"Let's just go for a walk and talk", John said.
"Alright, let's go back into the water".
"Sure, we still have time" John and Drake returned to the water, and they decided to swim around the beach for fun.
