After the seven day period ended, Shen Ming was anxiously waiting for the letter from the kidnapper. He alerted every personnel to keep their guard up and thoroughly check the premises of the clan. Shen Ming knew that this could be his chance to trace the letter back to the blackmailer. The biggest headache for the sacred family wasn't the kidnapper but rather his anonymous identify. If they were to figure out the person whereabouts then only death awaits them. Who in the Glory City has the ability to irk them like this and stay fine?
The only trouble would be if the doubts of Patriarch were to come true and this is a scheme of City Lord and other families.
As the seventh day dawned, Shen Ming was unable to keep calm. Various powerhouse have been summoned and the team was established, they must eradicate the troublesome fellow.
Amist all of this, a letter arrived. Shen Ming didn't pay it any heed rather he wanted to know how it came in their procession. The answer he got send a chill down his spine.
As the family was in full alert to catch the messenger and screen out the perpetrator from it, some unusual thing happened exactly opposite to their thinking, as the messenger actually came from the front gate.
He was a shabby looking commoner with tear visual in his eyes, he handed the letter to the guards outside the family gates and immediately started to cry while grabbing their legs. When asked they got to know that he is a common vendor of the nearest market and just today his wife and children were kidnapped and he was tasked to give this letter to the Sacred Family Or else he would never see them again.
Shen Ming was genuinely scared by the enemy shameless and underhanded means, what is scary is not an strong enemy but an enemy who is cunning, shameless and as vile as they could even be.
He resolved that he must save Shen Fei first, hence he collected the ransom money to be on the safe side. After saving and retrieving Shen Fei, they would encircle him and end his pathetic life. After looking at the time and place for meeting, which was a forest detailing from the instructions. Patriarch Shen Hong asked rhe Dark guild as they already stationed around the premise of the forest to make sure no family interfere and ambushes them.

Shen Ming looked at a tree which had a red cross marking and his expression hardened.
"That's the place." Shen Ming said and as his voice dimmed, dozens of figures fan out to the forest, surrounding the area. These people all have their face covered, making it impossible to see their faces.
As per plan, they would first make the transaction, save Shen Fei and then proceed with their attack.
Shen Ming walked alone as he came near the tree, it was a very lush around the tree and eventually his eyes caught a black figure emerging out of the darkness. Shen Ming steps halted as he looked at the person with caution and hatred surging in his mind, as he was carefully trying to match the figure physical traits to anyone he knew but he couldn't. Lastly, Shen Ming mildly gritted his teeth trying to stop himself from doing anything impulsive.
The black figure walked before Shen Ming and said, "You did not belittle me, Elder Shen Ming. What's the meaning in bringing so many people to intercept me?"
"They are here to make sure you don't try anything funny." Shen Ming said with a straight face as if he was speaking the truth, without any sense of shame of being caught. Although he was perplexed how the kidnapper found out, he already consider the possibility.
Nie Li looked around a bit and with the help of his senses and A. I. Chip scanning he could sense a group of black clothed men hiding. Nie Li can feel that three of them are Black Gold rank and others were mostly Gold rank. This is an impressive formation of experts if not for his recent breakthrough he would need to suffer a bit in order to kill them all.
'Who knows how many of you will be left after my first move? The biggest advantage is the playing field since I chose this place so, I definitely made some arrangements.' Nie Li cracked his neck as he looked towards Shen Ming, "I understand elders concern but don't worry, junior has no such intention. Since, we are here let's get this over with, elder Shen Ming is a busy man and I would hate to delay you. Shen Ming flinched and veins in his forehead bulged listening to Nie Li's sarcastic words, Nie Li tone of compliment was so sincere that it seemed like he was genuinely praising Shen Fei.
Shen Ming was fed up with his blatant disrespect as he snorted, "First give us the Young Master then I would pass the ransom."
"Oh you thought I was negotiating, I am sorry. Let me rephrase myself: Give me the money or forgot about there ever being a Shen Fei! What are you worried even about? You got such an entourage of experts, I won't pull something here but just know that I still have his life in my hand. Give me the money and after making sure everything is fine, I would hand over the little brat." Nie Li spoke in a menacing cold devilish voice, as he released a colossal pressure that startled even the Black Gold rank experts in the back, much less a mere Silver Rank like Shen Ming.
Shen Ming shivered as he thought for a moment and nodded, he took a interspatial ring out from his pocket and threw it towards Nie Li, who caught the ring and immediately saw a mountain of Demon Spirit Coins inside them.
He smiled and dissolved his pressure, He started to walk closer to Shen Ming. "Great! Great! Elder is so smart. Now, for Young Master Shen, I am sorry to say that he is not here but dont worry you will meet him soon...."
"Something is wrong! Move!" The hiding black gold rank expert felt hidden blood lust emitting from Nie Li's body as he commanded.
Nie Li came near Shen Ming as he said, "...In the afterlife."
