Chapter 12: Fated To Meet II

Never could Serenity have fathomed the gruesome sight that befell her gaze as the rusty gates parted with a screech. 

Her eyes, as wide as the moon, were filled with fear as they beheld the lifeless bodies of both witches and vampires that lay strewn across the ground like fallen leaves.

A bitter taste rose up in her throat, threatening to spill forth in a most unpleasant manner. 

Her quivering fingers clung to the sturdy gates for support, feeling that her trembling legs were about to collapse.

The repulsive sight not only induced a sickening feeling within her, but it also compelled a tear to cascade down her delicate cheek.

The blood moon illuminated the scene, allowing her to see every gory detail. Her inability to detect even the faintest sign of life from any of the bodies underscores the tragic reality that neither side emerged victorious.
