The White Haired Demon Slayer (Part-6)

Hand on rapier, arrow notched on the bow, metal arms and knives ready to be drawn.

But above all a heart burning with hate, rage, fear, and concern.

Walking through the stone hallways of the demon spawn, I was aware of everything as we stepped into the final chamber.

Unlike any of the chambers before, this one was far bigger than all of them. Though like the ones before, there were once again 8 hallways leading out of the chamber. 6 of them where I could very well sense hordes of monsters waiting for us even though none appeared in sight. One hallway through which we were walking in...

....and one in front of us, opening up with such a massive entrance, all the other hallways dwarfed in comparison.

It was that massive hallway through which the dark sinister aura was coming right at us.

While Luca, Elaina, and Sylvie stood behind me watching all other directions, Ren instinctively walked up to stand right by my side.

His eyes were burning with excitement while I could feel mine burning with controlled rage.

Even under such enormous pressure, it was now that I felt we were as ready as we could be.

On a different note, the ground was feeling a bit too unnaturally shaky and unstable. This was something that worried me too.

It didn't take long for the sinister aura to appear before us. And thus, there it was...

And we immediately knew it was such bad news that we could no longer even measure the rank of our mission.

Walking into the hall with booming footsteps, a Grand Orc appeared in front of us. An over 30 foot tall Grand Orc with nearly full-body corruption pulsing under his armor. Even though the corruption had covered his entire body all the way up to his neck, he was showing no signs of wild erratic behavior or uncontrolled rage.

We found the primary corrupted monster, the one who received his corruption from the Demon Generals themselves, and spread it to every monster in this monster spawn.

We are dead...

Is what anyone else would be saying, but me? Hell no...

"YOU ARE DEAD." were the first words from my mouth.

Growling started to erupt from all around us. Hordes of goblins started appearing from every hallway.

The source of the doom, the fear, the despair was here... But now facing it right in the face, did we feel any of it? Absolutely not.

I looked back at my teammates, Ren, Elaina, Luca, and even Sylvie. None showed even a single sign of fear or regret for walking in here. I could feel the magic being gathered by each, weapons at the fore, ready to strike any instant.

'We are ready.' I thought to myself

Just as I was about to give the order to attack everything around us, the Grand Orc raised his hand slowly, and with a heavy snort brought his arm down.

It took me a moment to realize what the signal meant. A moment too late unfortunately as the ground suddenly gave in beneath our feet.

A look of terror passed upon our faces, and panic set into our hearts. All of us except...

"LIAAAAAAMMMMM!!!!!!" Ren shouted my name.

He was faster, faster than all of us. Before any of us could realize we were falling, Ren had already jumped off and grabbed the edge with his metal hand.

I looked at him as I fell, and he looked down at me with a smile and a thumbs-up. "I leave them to you."

My hand instinctively returned his gesture to him and a wave of confidence and alertness rushed through me.

I turned in the air and threw my sword down ahead of us, infusing it with light magic. While the sword hit the ground I looked around me at my team.

Luca was already poised to land safely, while Elaina can handle herself with her wind magic. Sylvie's form however was bad. If she landed this way, she would be permanently injured and maybe even dead.

"Elaina!" I called out to my archer and pointed towards Sylvie. She nodded in response and I felt a gush of air around my waist pushing me towards Sylvie.

As I grabbed Sylvie I assessed how far Lightbreak had fallen. The fall was about 80 meters(260+ feet) it would seem. Since it had already been about 2 seconds since we started falling, that gave me less than 2 secs to stabilize and assess.

I got myself into the perfect form to land safely with Sylvie while turning on my Spatial light detection.

I could barely get two seconds to detect anything, but my Spatial Light Detection never fails. What I passed by as I fell into darkness, was now clearly formed in my mind.

Broken stone stairways leading up to dark hallways with unlit torches. I thought I could sense some sign of life through the hallways, but I didn't have enough time to assess further.

Nor did I have time to worry about it anymore. As soon as our feet touched the ground, torches lit up all around us, revealing a very familiar blood-smeared hall around us once again. With 8 hallways once again, filled with all sorts of goblins, from small basic goblins to ground goblins, tree goblins, and even fully and semi-armored hobgoblins.

I got back to my feet and called out to my team. "Get in formation."

I took a deep breath. I could feel the power surging through me as Lightbreak flew back to my hand, glowing bright with a pulsing stream of light magic. I could feel the turmoil of chaotic mana in me now settling into one emotion. Destruction.

"Let's start."

****REN KAIZEL****

The Grand Orc walked with thunderous footsteps back into his throne room. The humans he had sent down to their death weren't worth even half his attention.

The throne room was the largest of all in the monster spawn, with a throne unnaturally large to match it. This was his fortress, his army, and his throne to command them all from. To destroy humanity as ordered.

Numerous pillars supported the giant room with giant weapons and armor pieces of every kind hanging from the walls for him to use as needed.

The Grand Orc settled into his throne as he looked upon his grand throne room. "No human can ever challenge me."

Just then, as if in response to that thought, a cold deadly feeling pierced his heart.

A feeling he had never felt before. A feeling that unsettled him to his core.

FEAR.

He stared into the dark hallway that led up to his throne room. Even without knowing why, he felt cornered. Like an animal about to die in the most brutal manner possible.

"YOU DARE SIT ON A THRONE IN FRONT OF ME?"

A cold shock of fear wrecked through his body. He carefully stood up from his throne gripping his spiked club dearly.

Impossible. He was blessed by the Demon Generals themselves. He was given the power of corruption of the highest order. Pure darkness flowed through his body.

How could anything in the world make him feel like this?

A small form walked out of the darkness. He couldn't believe it. It was one of the humans from before. The one with dark clothes and a blade strapped to his back.

The small human walked into the throne room laughing and waving his hand at the Grand Orc.

"HAHAHAHA! I'm kidding, I'm kidding! My name is Ren Kaizel, let's get along shall we?"
