Chapter 29: Promised Time
Inside one of tavern on the way to the east harbour city of far east,
The walls were painted with blood, with doors of the Inn tight shut.
As corpses of the bar tenders, owner and the people who came to drink, lied all over the floor
Weapons clashed as a level 3 werewolf faced of against a level 4 human,
Lowe during the travel got a status update and was able to level up to level 3 but the new arrival happens to be a veteran level 4.
"stop resisting will you, the blood around here is such a beautiful sight. So die quickly so that I can enjoy the colors"
Lowe grunted as the assailant's sword put another slash on his abdomen,
Meanwhile this went on, the middle of the bar was the only place clean and untouched by the dog fight, where a table with two chairs was arranged.
On the table sat two occupants, both gods.
"so who are you again?" shiva lifting his eyebrow at the god sitting in front of him.
The god looked like a human in his early twenties, with a charming face or rather a mask to hide the malice inside,
"oh now shiva, you forgot about me, I am hurt" the unknown god shed a crocodile tear.
Shiva gave him a deadpan look and went right back into finishing the book he was reading before the new arrivals started massacring the people in the bar.
Shiva would have enjoyed if there was a bit of mayhem involved but the people here were sadly only normal people without any blessings hence they didn't resist much,
"shouldn't you be worried about your child?" the unknown god pointed towards the fight,
Lowe ducked to avoid a horizontal slash only for the attacker's knee greeting him right in the face knocking him down,
The human jumped on top of him trying to stab him, when suddenly shiva,
"are you ok?" shiva asked
"DO I LOOK OK?!?!" replied a bloodied Lowe as the level 4 toyed with him,
Shiva faced the unknown god and said,
"he is ok"
"YOU SON OF.." before Lowe could finish he again had to dodge another attack aimed at his throat,
"hahaha.. You should be a bit more considerate of your child Shiva" the unknown god laughed,
Shiva did not reply as he merely looked at the god trying to remember something,
Nope he does not remember who he was, but then again, he knew he probably never bothered to remember him in the first place
"stop Vito, any further and we might not be able to negotiate" the unknown God commanded as the human assailant named Vito stopped,
Lowe gritted him teeth as the human walked away from where he stood,
"we were hoping to find the famed <Destroyer> here but finding you here is already enough" the unknown god said as the Vito stood behind him,
"what do you want?" shiva this time didn't even bother looking at the god and kept reading his book,
Yet the unknown god, expecting this treatment merely smiled,
"don't worry we mean no harm, that was merely testing the waters" unknown God raised his hands in surrender, as Lowe scoffed at the god and human,
His experience with Lio and Shiva told him that these two were nutcases as well,
"the last thing we want is <Destroyer> hunting us down" the god spoke on behalf of the human as well,
"so?" shiva asked,
"oh now don't be like that, I just want to know where he would be going next, that's all" the god smiled at shiva.
"why do you want to know?" shiva asked raising an eyebrow at the unknown god,
"a sole human capable of burying an entire army alive, effortlessly crashing Freya, and now killing the legendary black dragon." the spread his arms epically reciting Lio's few of many notable deeds.
"what can I say, I am just a humble fan" the god smiled slyly. Lowe felt a shiver down his spine looking at the god. The god didn't bother to hide the malice in his words anymore.
Shiva closed his book and put it on the table,
"I remember now"
Shiva looked the young god.
"Erebus" the unknown god smiled and stood up
With his hand on his abdomen and other hand at his back, the god bowed.
"at your service"
Shiva and Erebus stared at each other and Erebus sighed,
"seems like you have other plans, old man" Erebus said disappointingly as his expression from a 'know it all' to disappointment.
"something like that" Shiva replied while handing Lowe a bag of medicines and potions that he asked,
Lowe looked at Shiva, he was by no means an old looking god but then why is this 'Erebus' calling him old man?.
"is that old fart also involved?" Erebus asked raising his eyebrow,
"What if he is?" shiva replied nonchalantly.
"tsk, just when I started having fun. What happened? I thought those old coats weren't interested in gekai" Erebus asked as both the mortals in the room became more and more curious about the conversation.
"Who knows?" shiva shrugged
"it seemed interesting so I tagged along with this" he added.
"hmm.." Erebus hummed in response
"Well that just means the game will be ending soon, the adults are getting impatient" Erebus chuckled. As he started leaving,
"Well now please excuse myself, I need to prepare for the promised time".
...
The next day. In the capital of the Far east nation.
"Heya, kaguya's back!" Lyra shouted announcing the arrival of there vice captain.
Kaguya entered the Inn and was greeted with a shouting Lyra, an annoyed Ryuu and Neze scolding Alise for spending too much money,
In other words, a normal day for Astraea familia.
That brought a smile on Kaguya's face, which disappeared soon after as she remembered what Amaterasu told her,
"is something wrong?, Kaguya" Ryuu who approached Kaguya asked.
"No, it's nothing. I am just a little hungry. What's for breakfast Neze" Kaguya diverted the topic and walked towards the dining area,
Ryuu noticed that she was hiding something but decided to not pry since she clearly didn't want to tell.
She knew that Kaguya would tell them when she thinks she is ready.
"hey what's up with all these foods" Alise called out as Ryuu stiffened,
"wait wasn't Ryuu supposed to order. This amount can feed half the town." Cecily said in amazement,
As everyone looked at Ryuu for answers,
The proud elf blushed at the sudden attention and embarrassment of her stupid mistake.
'why do I always take things too far' Ryuu reprimanded herself.

Meanwhile in the middle of the ocean,
A large tentacle sprouted out the water, at high speed only to be deflected off,
More octopus like tentacles the size of a large house shot towards a white haired human who had an annoyed expression,
[Gate of Babylon]
Numerous golden portals appeared above his head as a rain of durandal weapon followed, shredding the large octopus like monster.
Lio looked at the floating corpse,
'how many does that make it, nah I stopped counting' he thought.
The same type of monster tried to attack him multiple time now, since it was only one which could get to the height he was flying,
It has been 5 days, and he was still floating on top of the ocean,
At this time, he started using the corpses of monster as landmark to mark the location of where he has already checked,
Even rinnegan with enhanced vision, could only see so far.
He also thought of flying as high as he could to get a better and more view but,
flying as high as he could, he was met with a barrier of sorts, and no matter how much he forced it, it didn't bulge one inch.
This was the barrier that separated Tenkai and Gekai. And was made by Ouranus, God of sky and Odin, God of heaven together. Or so shiva told me.
Lio looked at the golden haired woman he was carrying. In five days her condition too hasn't changed one bit.
Days on the top of ocean with the same unchanging view minus the occasional monsters, gave him time to think about the situation.
First the condition of Aria. Her condition is slowly recovering even though at an near abysmal rate, she will probably need a lot of time and really precious items like a few elixirs and branch from the scared tree.
Second is the fact that there is a dragon residing right next to the far east island, and there were no incident of it attacking the place,
And there is a whole country established there, for centuries as well.
And no one before Amaterasu could do that, There is no way it just a coincidence.
Flying around in circle using the monster corpse as the center, Lio suddenly halted as a trail of smoke came in his vision,
A grin formed on his face,
'finally'.

Near the south-eastern side of the continent, near the peninsulas there was a familia camping,
It was early morning, as the a group consisting of several level 2s and level 1s and even a few level 3s gathered around,
"Goddess we will attack when the guards are shifting" a yellow furred weretiger said,
"we will conquer Olympia for our goddess" the entire familia roared,
"I am so happy my beautiful children. I am sure you all will give me the throne the most beautiful goddess, I, deserve" a blond haired goddess said
"as you wish goddess aphrodite" as they all again cheered,
The entire familia was out in open preparing a full siege at the mystical city of Olympus. Now that Artemis, the biggest pain in the ass for aphrodite, is in Orario. They can finally conquer the place. According to what they believe.
The campfire was producing a high trail of smoke, and it really wasn't helpful considering that they were preparing for a surprise attack, but they were lost in their own delusions.
The familia thinking about how the goddess will reward them after completion,
The goddess imagining how she will rule over her own domain in gekai after struggling so much,
But that trail of smoke didn't just spoil there plan as the guards in Olympus were getting ready for the assault.
No, it brought something much worse.
"what's that" a level 2 with his enhanced vision pointed at the sky as a dot seems to be coming closer,
Everyone alerted as the level 3s went to protect there goddess,
"is that.." before the person could finish, the dot vanished and person appeared right in the middle of there camp,
the strange white haired, blindfolded teenage boy appeared
"ah land... I missed thee" the boy exclaimed.
"who are you" the weretiger, seemingly the captain of the familia asked as he stepped forward to confront the boy who showed up unceremoniously from the sky.
He was also carrying a golden haired woman, one might have wondered if they were lovers if it weren't for the fact that he was carrying her like a sack of potatoes, with little care about her wellbeing on his face,
"I go by the name of Lionard, nice to meet you. Now will you be so kind to point towards the East harbour city"
the group looked at each other as they suddenly surrounded him and took out there weapons,
"what if you are from the enemy nation" the tigerman proclaimed,
to this the boy just smiled and said,
"if that were the case, you lot would be dead by now"
"HA look at this boy" a Chienthrope laughed finding the arrogance of the boy rather cute.
"maybe he is from Olympia, we should capture him and use him as hostage" a human said, looking proudly of his genius idea as the others nodded in approval,
Meanwhile the boy looked like he was at the end of his patience,
"let's capture him and take him to Goddess" one of them said
"no wait look at him, he is rather handsome isn't he. We should keep him away for goddess, you know how she loves beautiful things. She might not focus on us but this piece of shit" another one proclaimed,
Lio raised his eyebrows seemingly impressed by the sudden hostility that arrived from incidents that happened purely in their own daydream.
With Rinnegan he did notice that there was a deity here, he didn't know who.
But witnessing these simps here, it's a goddess and they trying to attack Olympia, so most likely it's Aphrodite.
Only a goddess of beauty can have followers who fulfil every requirement of being simps.
As the Familia started closing in, Lio sighed.
He put Aria down on the ground, and suddenly disappeared from sight.
Before anyone could react, there level 3 captain was flying off towards the horizon.
The blonde goddess stood up in fright as every time she blinks another one of her familia member is thrown around like a rag by the intruder.
"take me there" aphrodite ordered, her captain and level 3s and most of the level 2s were reduced to a limping state,
He was the perfect candidate to charm.
She and her aides were about to take walk towards the source of the noise, when suddenly camp in front blew away along with a few level 2s,
As a white haired, blindfolded teenager appeared to be only one standing,
Aphrodite would be lying if she said her heart didn't skip a beat there,
Young,
Strong,
Beautiful.
He was perfect to be her servant,
The boy ignored the scrambling adventurers and picked up aria and started walking towards aphrodite,
The guards around the goddess, jolted as they saw the intruder walking towards them,
Aphrodite looked at the approaching boy and smile seductively towards him,
'so you came here for me huh?, oh what a sinful goddess I am yes embrace m..'
He walked past her,
'huh?' the goddess exclaimed,
The boy stopped in front of there carriage where the driver was hiding behind.
"oi" Lio said,
"Y-Y-Y-YES" the carriage driver saluted.
Lio threw the spirit on the carriage and jumped on top,
"take me to East Harbour city, or you imagine what will happen to you"
"yes sir!!" the driver jumped on the wagon and took the reigns.
as the intruder left, the goddess stood stiff still processing what happened.
He ignored her,
Her charm didn't work.
The goddess still stood in a daze, processing the events that just transpired.
Suddenly a shout brought her back,
"Goddess they are leaving" one of the guards shouted pointing towards the duo that were about to leave.
"w-w-what are you doing!!"
The white hair boy looked the screaming goddess and smirked
"I call this 'mugging in broad daylight'. Let's go."
The driver wiped the horse the group rode away while the Familia gathered itself up.
The goddess seething in anger, did not realize the carriage that the intruder was her own, and by that the most important one.
"G-G-Goddess" the weretiger called out timidly
"What?!" Aphrodite turned towards her child, her proud children reduced to that state by a single intruder, and they were trying to conquer a country.
"The c-c-carriage that he took had all the m-m-money" the weretiger finished as he ducked in fright at the incoming wrath of her goddess.
"Huh?" it finally registered, as the goddess looked at the captain of her Familia and then the direction where the carriage was leaving.
"COME BACK!!!!" the goddess shouted as she started running towards the departing carriage with her Familia following behind.
...
"How much time we will take to reach the east harbor" the white-haired boy asked the coachman as he looked at the sky, if he had to guess it was around noon right now,
And he would much rather arrive before sunset or finding Lowe and Shiva will be difficult.
"I would say around 3-4 hours" the driver answered, ever since he was scared that badly he was wondering,
What was he doing with that Familia in the first place? he was not in any Familia since he was very much an unblessed person.
He asked the rather strange boy about his predicament and the boy told him that there is a high chance that he was charmed by Goddess Aphrodite.
Lio on the other hand was looking behind as familiar a pair of a level 3 and God was fast approaching.
"Stop right there" the pair in the view as the goddess shouted,
Lio looked at the incoming party, the weretiger who he sent flying was on all his four limbs running while Aphrodite sat on his back wiping him to run faster,
These idiots do realize that even though he was a weretiger his body was still made to run to 2 legs, running on four will only makes him slower, right?
Afterall even a level 1 can run as fast as a horse, that is how much a God's blessing can change a mortal. For a level 3 to catch up to a horse is child's play.
After a few seconds the duo came right behind the carriage,
"Stop" Aphrodite tired charm me but it still didn't work as she gritted her teeth,
I looked down at the weretiger
"ah~ goddess is riding me~"
I stopped looking.
"Give back our stuff" Aphrodite proclaimed she extended her hands towards me demanding to hand over the stuff.
Well, I don't have any use for these so might as well.
"These?" Lio pointed at the bags that were kept where I laid Aria down.
"YES"
"ok" Aphrodite beamed a smile the boy's response,
so my charm did work it just took some time, well of course it would I am the most beautiful and charming dei...
Her thoughts were interrupted by a a few large and heavy bags appearing in front of them.
"here you go" Lio said as he threw the bags right at them.
"you assho..." she couldn't finish the curse as she slammed headfirst into a heavy bag full of valis that sent both the goddess and the weretiger off the road into the forest.
The driver sweat dropped at the event, the boy behind him was by no means normal.
Aphrodite familia was rather famous around these parts known for being extremely strong and at odds with the wandering Artemis familia.
Yet a familia full of level 3s and level 2s was reduced to a limping state by a single boy, there was no way he was famous.
Maybe he was one of imperial knights from the empire or part of Poseidon familia, he could be one of the mighty adventurer from Orario.
Or he could even be part of the legendary Two Great Familias. Zeus and Hera familia.
At his own listing of places where extremely strong adventurers originate, he realized that how many places there were,
Maybe it might be the reason why the Gods are suddenly calling this era, the Promised Time.
