It felt as though she was waiting a lifetime. Anger rising, the red matriarch snapped. "Say it!"
For some a fated is not a happy thing. They ruined something that could make someone turn from good to bad. For the Red Matriarch, the first male she had ever loved left her for his fated and then the second. What to do then?
She took a random male as her consort mate and stayed alone. To love is a sin. It breaks hearts and wages wars.
She rather be cold hearted and alone. To pass on this matriarchal title to another, there is still time, she can always adopt a suitable son or daughter by then. "The council has requested a meeting."
"mm, when?"
"on the morn after the mid-meal."
"Very well. You may leave." Dismissing him the red matriarch passed him without another look. She may still love this male but not to the point of coveting something that is no longer hers.

SUPER_WEIRDO
SUPER_WEIRDO I know it seems like Di'ordi is all over the place but remember she is a pretender. She has her original self but it's injured, her inner domain is scarred and her 'sister' is still within it. Adding to that she does have people out to either kill or capture her. So for now she will be quirking one way and serious another.
I will say though I prefer her quirky side so I will write more like that and slowly switch it when she finally matures.
