Chapter 30: Fire Away

I was trapped inside of a dark room as I watched Leo's progress through a large screen, almost like it was a movie. However, something weird happened when Savathun had killed him and his family. I found myself dangling from the crimson Knight's grasp with Savathun floating nearby with the same sneer she had on when she pressed that ball to my forehead.

I looked the Knight in the eyes and used a little trick I had picked up from watching Leo. I coursed Arc energy through my body and sliced the Knight's wrist with Sol, causing him to drop me as he screamed in agony, giving me enough time to run over to the unconscious Leo and give him a good slap to wake his lazy ass up.

"C'mon kid! Get your ass up and help me kill this bitch!" Leo's eyes opened to reveal his intelligent pale purple iris'. His ashen grey hair fell down over his eyes as he groaned and rolled onto his knees. I glanced around and saw Wraith, Sigbrand, and Sigwulf holding the two knights and the wizard off, as well as Leo's sister, mother, his little soulmate, and her parents all lying on the ground.

I knew that the Cathar would have to be treated as soon as possible, or else it might be irreversible, but I had more pressing matters to attend to. I grabbed Leo's shoulders and pulled him to his feet, letting him get a good look at who I was. His eyes widened as he snapped Sol out of its beautiful sheath before holding it out toward my neck and asking "Who are you, where am I, and why are you impersonating Lucifer Blake!?"

A wry smile spread across my face as I drew Sol, with lightning fast speeds, and knocked Leo's version to the side in an instant. "Look kid, I don't have time to explain, but I know who you are, what you've done, and how good of a person you are. Just listen to me, and help me out. Then I'll find someone to heal Akina."Leo's expression twisted in conflict as he looked behind him and saw everyone lying on the ground.

Just as he was about to say something, a thunderous roar came from the large hole in the side of the building. Domenth entered and changed into his humanoid form before running up to me and kneeling as he said "Master, a large group of unknown Guardians have entered the atmosphere and are heading toward us at an alarming pace!" As he finished, I felt Sam's confusion as he asked 'Wha-! What the fuck happened! Why are there two Lucifers! Oh, wait...OHHHHH, so that's what happened. Huh? Why is Zavala trying to contact us...?'

I felt a connection being established as a small amount of static entered my head before Zavala's voice said "Guardian! We're on our way, hold on! You must not engage the Osmium King! I repeat, you must not engage the Osmium King!" I nodded toward Domenth and said "It's alright, they're friends, but why are you calling me master...?"Domenth's tail began to wag slightly as he looked up and said "It's because I was impressed by your strength, Master! I shall serve you until the end of time!"

I was slightly confused, and annoyed, but I decided to play along with the Ahamkara. "Well, your first task is to protect those five unconscious on the ground." I pointed at Leo's little party and Domenth eagerly nodded his head before guarding their bodies. I turned back to Leo and asked "You ready to kick some ass?" I brandished Sol and felt the familiar sensation of my Darkness and Light surging through my body as I faced Savathun.

"Wraith, keep the Wizard from teleporting with your Void energy. Sigbrand and Sigwulf, hold the two Knights until Leo and I deal with the Wizard!" They each nodded their heads and released their Light, causing the floors and surrounding walls to crumble slightly.

I pulled out one of the three handcannons I had gotten on Earth and held it out toward Leo and asked "You know how to use one of these?" to which he nodded in response. I pulled out my own handcannon and admired its sleek black design with golden motifs and trimmings.

I readied my weapons and shot out a Solar infused bullet, cracking Savathun's shield. 'That caught her attention.' I thought as she looked over toward me with a strong killing intent. I glanced back at Leo and nodded my head before dashing off between the scarlet Knight and the female Knight. I continued to fire at Savathun while charging Sol up with Darkness, making sure that I would be able to end this with one blow.

Leo seemed to notice what I was doing and copied me, which was quite the feat considering how little experience he had with the Darkness. I signaled for Leo to advance while I veered off to the side. Leo fired his handcannon to draw Savathun's attention away from me, but she was ready for an attack like this. Her body began to twist and spasm before two more Savathuns popped out of her.

I clicked my tongue and sent a large pillar of flame out under the three Wizards. I could hear their shrieks, but they weren't shrieks of pain. They were of joy. My flames shrunk before expanding outwards and dispersing.

The three Savathuns were unharmed and were smiling like lunatics as they began to wave their hands and chant in their language. My eyes widened as I appeared next to Leo and set up a thick Light barrier as a large explosion of Darkness shot out from their bodies.

I ran out of the barrier and charged toward the Savathun in front before releasing the Darkness within Sol. A large column of dark fire shot our from Sol and engulfed the three Wizards, however, even that wasn't enough to kill them.

Their bodies were scorched and bloodied in some areas, but it was like they were unaffected. Just as they began to chant once more, a loud crackling came from behind me. I glanced back and saw Zavala, Cayde, and Ikora rushing toward us with a veritable wave of Guardians behind them.

Zavala's voice rang out clearly as he yelled "Guardians, go! We will protect the ones back here and defeat these three befo-" A loud, blood-curdling, bone-chilling scream echoed from behind Savathun. The Wizard's eyes lit up with fear as she turned around and faced the seemingly never-ending hallway.

A loud scraping sound could be heard as the sounds of heavy footsteps began to get closer. This was our chance. I lunged forward and decapitated the nearest Savathun, but it was a fake. I cursed under my breath and had Sam scan the remaining two to find out which one was real.

Leo had followed shortly after and quickly narrowed the options once he turned the other fake into ashes, leaving the true Savathun exposed. The sounds of battle behind us stopped abruptly and, when I looked back, I saw everyone staring behind me with their mouths open, fear evident on their faces.

I furrowed my brows and tapped Leo on the arm before moving in for the kill. We split from each other and lunged toward Savathun before embedding out swords into her body and lighting her ablaze. We landed on the ground and looked toward the hall to see what everyone was staring at.

And then we realized how badly we had erred.

A tall, and I mean TALL, Knight clad in bluish-white, chitin plate-like skin stood in the distance with a really pissed off expression on his grotesque face. The Knight had a large greatsword and a weird looking gun while his frayed, dark-blue cape fluttered about his body.

The Knight's eyes turned red as he shouted "My child!! I'll kill all of you for murdering my precious child!!" before leaping toward Leo and I. The Knights weigh alone was enough to collapse the floor under us, resulting in the three of us to take a little tumble down a large gap that was...hmm...at least 100m? Sam confirmed my guess was indeed correct shortly after.

Then, get this, the Knight sprouted two pale blue wings and began to shout while flying toward us. 'What an awesome narrative that was...good job...' Sam said as he sighed in my head. I shrugged my shoulders and created two platforms of Void energy, one underneath myself and the other for Leo to fall on.

The Knight was almost on us when I created a large chain of Arc energy and wrapped it around his large body. I then grabbed Leo and dived off of the platforms and accelerated out fall with a bit of Solar and Void energy. We landed hard on the ground and immediately readied our weapons and began to fire Solar shots at the entangled Knight.

However, his tough skin deflected all of the bullets as he broke free from my chain. The Knight's thunderous roars filled my ears as he launched toward me and swung his sword down. I managed to raise my arm and block, but I was pushed into the ground, creating a large crater underneath me.

I moved to the side and let the Knight's attack slide off of my blade and into the ground before moving to try and sever his leg. The knight raised his gun and shot out a large beam of Void energy. I grabbed the shot and threw it back at him, but it had little to no effects on him.

Leo had recovered, but he seemed severely worn out. I shot out a concentrated ball of Light toward him and gestured for him to absorb it and, after doing so, I could tell that he had received a pretty handy boost in power. 'Hm, looks like I really am a 'jack-of-all-trades' kinda guy.'

I dodged another one of the Knights frightening strikes before striking at his exposed foot with Sol. When the blade made contact, it felt like hitting a metal wall with a stick. My hands went numb from the impact and I had to think quickly as the Knight began to try and step on me. 'Hey, don't get hit!' Sam's voice chimed as I narrowly avoided getting my body cleaved in two.

I jumped over the Knight's strike and used the flat of his blade to propel myself upwards and in line with his head. I gathered Light into Sol before stabbing out toward one of the Knight's eyes and feeling the blade pierce through his thick skin like it was nothing. It was oddly satisfying if I must say so myself.

The Knight howled in pain as he clutched his face with his hand. The Knight then slammed his fist to the ground, creating spiderweb cracks everywhere, as large spikes began to grow from his shoulders, back, and arms.

I landed next to Leo and said "Well, looks like we have a pretty fish to catch!" Leo looked at me with a confused face and said "Fish...? But that's a Hive Knight, right?" I released a deep sigh from my nose and said "Never mind, just kill the damn thing..." My mood was now a mixture of being tired, frustrated, and a little bit bored.

'Oh wait...I'll have to talk to Amelia and Sayuri since the Vanguard is here to most likely take me back...fuuuuuuuuu-'
