Chapter 39: Mere Servant of the Greatest

The Five-Eyed Sorceress spelled out her incantations which filled the interior of the carriage in light.

"Grab onto my foot, Sir Grand Stallion!" Star Climber, who had a suave mustache said.

"I can feel the power soaring within me!"

"We're near! We're near! We're near the ground!" E-girl shouted as she tried to get in the carriage for safety.

"Now!" the petite girl said as all her five eyes squinted.

'Although my spells are powerful, it is not enough if they are not powerful enough. That Mountain Spring is abnormal for bringing us that high!'

A hundred meters before the ground, the Grand Stallion jumped ahead, putting his muscular legs in front while Star Climber held the carriage as if he was carrying it.

Boom!

Clouds of dust boomed a circular explosion outwards.

"Ouch-ouch-ouch-ouch!" the Grand Stallion successfully cushioned the first impact but it was still sliding forward. His sandals have long been broken and he was sliding on the sole of his feet.

Meanwhile, Star Climber had a clenched and blood-filled face and upper body as he was barely carrying the whole carriage.

The Five-Eyed Sorceress didn't slack off and continuously healed Grand Stallion's legs and feet.

If they gave in, the downward force would still be enough to squash everyone inside!

Without Star Climber, Grand Stallion's upper body would've given in already.

While E-girl was shouting at the top of her lungs, the carriage finally slowed down and softly dropped.

Crash*

The Five-Eyed Sorceress healed the Grand Stallion and Star Climber one last time.

"..."

There was silence before everyone abruptly exploded into cheer.

"Amazing!"

"Do you leg day ten times a week, bro?!"

"Waah! I thought I'm going to die!"

"Your trapezius is the real deal, Star Climber! Can I touch them?"

"Just how fast can you cast your spells, little lady!?"

Through adversity and trials, Mealma's representatives that were gathered all around the world became closer together.

After brief laughter, they all looked forward and optimistically thought;

'With us here, we will be able to save the kidnapped!'

But when they looked ahead, they just saw giant horses galloping through the grassland. No, "giant" is not the right term, but rather, "colossal" as it is no exaggeration if these horses were compared to mountains.

After sobering from the exhilaration of escaping death, they finally felt the tremble on the ground.

"I... I think we should just walk..."

With the carriage and their spirits broken, they all began traveling by foot.

"Wait, where's Anya?" Henrick then asked.

All those who were pursuing the supposed kidnapper gave up, except one person, Anya, said to be the strongest Imperial Knight under their Captain.

Even under the Guardian of Spirit's pressure, Anya persevered and caught up, jumping and stabbing her sword to one of the horse's backs.

The horse was so spirited, it didn't react to Anya's sword that was like a needle right now.

When she climbed up, she ran on top of them without fear. Jumping from horses to horses, she finally arrived at the lead and saw the carriage smoothly hovering on top.

"What?" Anya, who was so focused on catching up, only thought rationally at that moment when she saw the hovering carriage.

While resting on her knees, her eyes slowly rolled downwards to see the mysterious maid in front of the afternoon sun.

The maid looked so terrifying and majestic at the same time.

"Who-... who are you?"

Anya prepared herself for a battle that she had no confidence in. However, as an experienced Spirit Swordsman and Imperial Knight, losing confidence is a fatal error.

So, without any choice, Anya had to trick herself and gain the spirit energy she needed.

"Me?"

The mysterious maid, Spirit who disguised herself, smiled.

"I am but a mere servant... of the greatest, that is."

In her eyes, the amassing in spirit energy within Anya was crystal clear. With just one thought, she could easily take it away from this impressive Imperial Knight.

"I'm glad that those who are protecting the Great Emperor are capable and loyal."

Anya was too focused on her emotions to understand what Spirit meant. For the Imperial Knight, it's do or die.

"Ha!" she struck first!

"Down, knight!"

By just using words, Spirit stopped Anya's strike.

The female Imperial Knight had little resistance before kneeling again.

"Eh...? So powerful..."

This sobered Anya, which led her to a few thoughts.

'Who is this person? She has a strength of a Guardian!'

"Now that you're thinking, let me say that I am not here to harm anyone. After all, as I said, I'm a mere servant."

Spirit smiled as she turned around back to where the carriage floats.

'A mere... servant?' Anya was in disbelief, 'If what she said is true, just who is she serving? Perhaps... a God?'

...

In the far distance, numerous people were surrounding a lone woman.

"I knew it! We are the most ferocious assassin's weakness!"

The strange thing about these people was that they were not on the ground. Just like the Mover of Clouds, these people have white hairs on their heads and wide white wings behind.

They looked like angels, but obviously, they are not holy as they were surrounding a lone woman.

"What do you want?"

Although being surrounded by these High-Ranking Lighfeas, looking at some golden feathers on their wings, the lone woman sounded indifferent.

"Hmph! Still feigning dauntlessness? Although we believe that you are the fastest and most dangerous on land, you are helpless on air!"

The king of these Lighfeas laughed.

But hearing no response from the lone woman, the king with the white crown on his head stopped laughing and said.

"We know your legend, Moonlight Guillotine. How you accept any assassination request for a treasure and how you finally got all the treasure in the world because of how ferocious you are!"

"That is correct. I don't accept treasures anymore. But... I still work." the lone woman called the Moonlight Guillotine smiled, "As long as you have something that interests me."

"We didn't bring any reward but we did, however," the Lighfea King widely smiled, "...we did bring threat. Kill a few people for us and we will not hunt you down!"

"Big talk from someone who wants a young maiden do a job for him, Your Highness." the Moonlight Guillotine rolled her eyes sarcastically.

"Grr! We just don't want to be the killer of our own kind, after all, we have a traitor, Xiumos Fre Mey, the Mover of Clouds! That bastard allied with our rivaling Empire just because they offered bigger money! Just thinking about that silly nephew of mine makes my blood boil!"

"So you want me to kill this Shumo... Xiumu Pre... this guy for you? I thought you said people?"

The Lighfea King shook his head as he thought that this woman disappeared for a second.

"...Yes, along with him, I want you to kill all Mealma's Representatives!"

"Hmm... my bad..." the Moonlight Guillotine had a guilty face.

"What... do you mean?" the Lighfea King raised an eyebrow.

"No, I thought you want to kill the Emperor along with this Shumo... Xiumu Pre... che! This guy, right here!"

She then raised her hand and raised a head with white hair.

"What?" the Lighfea King was baffled.

Everyone was speechless as they noticed a second hand on her other hand.

The head... was familiar.

"Is that the head..." one Lighfea pointed, terrified.

"The Great Emperor, yes."
