Chapter 137: Two reasons

"Two reasons?" Fu Jie repeated. 

Xiao Jingyi nodded his head as he spoke up, "The first reason was because of your father. He had helped Ren Mengyao a lot." 

"So you wanted to pay back the debt by saving his son?" Fu Jie scoffed as he found this to be a bit unbelievable. 

Xiao Jingyi shook his head as he responded, "That's not it." 

"??" 

"Ren Mengyao is missing." 

Fu Jie nodded his head as he wondered why the man was saying the obvious. Everyone knew that the man was missing. 

"Your father is also in trouble because of him," Xiao Jingyi sighed. 

Fu Jie didn't particularly feel anything as he heard this since it wasn't technically his father and even if it really were his real father, he would still not be worried about that old man since he wasn't particularly on good terms with that father of his. 

"If they are alive or not... We can never be sure."
