"Char! Why are you looking like that? You looked half-dead or something! Did Robert send people to make trouble for you?! We need to report it to the principal if he did that!" Anne panicked when she saw his haggard face.
"Ah?! No, there is no problem, I did not get any sleep because of something last night. You don't need to worry about me," he tried to reassure her.
"Are you sure? You look terrible, can you fight in your current state?" she asked in worry.
"I will be fine after some sleep, I will take a power nap while we wait for the fight to start," He said as he went to a bench and lay on it.
There was no class as the final match was on the weekend, they only needed to come early to attend the opening ceremony.
The fight will not start early as the organizer prepared shows to attract more audience for the semi-final and final match.
"What is this guy thinking? We have an important fight and he actually decided to pull an all-nighter," Anne grumbled.
Char could hear her, but he kept his silence and tried to get as much rest as he could before the fight started.
"Char, get up, the opening show has ended, we only have ten minutes before our turn to fight! You need to warm up before the fight!" the girl tried to wake him up.
"Five more minutes mom, just five more minutes," he mumbled.
"Five minutes, my ass! And I'm not your mom!" she kicked him down from the bench.
"What was that for? Do you have anything against me? Can't you just wake me up nicely? Is there even any femininity left in you?" he complained as he rubbed his nose. He had fallen face-first to the floor.
"Don't pick a fight with me, just get ready fast, we don't want to be disqualified after coming this far!" She hurried him to the weapon storage.
Char went to the storage groggily as he just woke up. He stretched for a while before picking up a sword that he felt was right to the touch.
He armed himself, but he did not leave the storage yet, mana gathered around him as he summoned the skeleton.
He picked the best sword he could find and passed it to the skeleton, but he did not stop there. He picked two bracers and two leg guards before he made the skeleton wear them.
"This should be enough, more than this then it will hinder its movement too much," he thought as he wrought the skeleton out.
The reason he usually only armed the skeleton with a sword was that it would become slower with more equipment on its body.
That's why only skeleton warriors use armor. The skeleton warrior could take the weight because of its higher level, but Skelly was not a skeleton warrior, that's why it only used a sword.
"With that thing I prepared, then it should not be a problem to use bracers and leg guards. In fact, it should be able to increase its movement speed," he was pleased with his creation.
Summoning a creature before the fight started was not against the rule, he let the skeleton get used to the weight before he brought it to the arena.
"What took you so long? It's time already!" Anne chastised him.
"This," he said as the skeleton got into the arena. Additionally, to the bracers and leg guards, black tattoos covered the skeleton's arm bones and leg bones.
The tattoo looked stylish, and it was so dark as if it absorbed light, the audience that saw it was amazed by its appearance.
"What kind of skeleton is that? That bracers and tattoo look so cool! I can't doubt that it looks stylish!" an audience remarked.
"Yeah, tattoos and skeleton really mix well!" another agreed.
"So what if it looks cool? Skeleton is still weak as fuck! With that much metal weighing down on its limb, it is as slow as a turtle!" a boy remarked. If Char saw him, then he would recognize the boy as he was one of the people that challenged him but lose in the end.
"How is it weak? It can reach the semi-final! You don't even get to quarter-final!" his friend retorted.
"He was just lucky that he did not meet anyone strong!" the boy insisted.
"Didn't he beat Robert? He is in the top 50!" his friend did not want to lose in an argument.
"Robert is an idiot! He did not even summon his dragon! That one was not counted!" the boy fumed. Their argument continued as the fight in the arena started.
Char's opponents summoned their creature the moment the fight started. A dog waking two of its hind legs appeared along with a humanoid pig with a muscled body.
"Kobold and Orc! And they certainly are not a lesser variant, they are at least at level 11!" Char analyzed.
"Anne, you take care of the orc, my skeleton will fight the kobold!" he instructed the girl.
"What? Kobold is fast! Your skeleton will not stand a chance! It is too slow with all that metal you make it wear!" Anne panicked, but Char already ran at the kobold's summoner while the skeleton tried to run at the kobold.
"Believe in me! My skeleton is immune to kobold's poison. It will be better this way!" he shouted back.
"Fine! Just don't come running for help if your skeleton got destroyed!" she gritted her teeth as she instructed her imp toward the muscled orc.
The orc was using a club made of metal; it tried to turn the imp into a meat paste, but it just sidestepped the club; the orc was too slow compared to the Imp's footwork.
Orcs were known for brute strength rather than their speed, but that was not all. The Imp kicked the orc with its iron kick, but the orc did not even flinch.
Its endurance was so high and it could take a lot of damage, Orc was one of the best physical-oriented summoned creatures.
"Skelly use that!" Char commanded as the skeleton got to the kobolds attack range.
