Chapter 59: I Totally Screwed Up

Jonah felt like the worst person in the entire world. And tonight had started so well too!

Eden had looked so beautiful and so genuinely excited to see him. She was more straightforward than he would have expected from her but that showed how much she actually liked him.

She helped ease his natural awkwardness by complimenting him to help him relax and then conversing as naturally as they always did. Then she kept touching him. Holding his hands. Wiping chocolate off his face. He was already dying before they made it out to the dance floor.

Jonah thought he was an expert at being stared at by now but the way Eden stared directly into his eyes as they danced was completely foreign. She wasn't disgusted, afraid, or pitying him. So why wouldn't she stop staring?!

The final blow was when she apologized and said she was only staring because she thought he had pretty eyes. Gorgeous was the word she used.
