Chapter 63: Continuation and End
Another man down, from 12 they became 10, the soldiers gave their sergeant an idea to bomb the place with grenades but after they blew up there was still no reaction from the subterranean monster some soldiers thought it died from the explosion due to a questionable green liquid rising from the ground.
"Nice one guys, i dont wanna sleep on top of a tree" Golf member 5.
The member dropped down to the ground in a hurry only to fall directly into some sort of pitfall, the member touched the walls and found that it was slimy and to his horror the opening closed, whatever may have happened next was painful enough for him to scream as the creature burrowed again and awaited its next meal.
And then there were 9.
A few more hours passed since the incident and the golf squadron had a restless look on their face due to worrying about their safety from the subterranean beast, they were silent as every second and minute passed, suddenly they heard gunfire from a close proximity and couldn't help but grit their teeth in worry as the ground shook.
Screams echoed from the distance and the gunfire slowly died down, a few minutes later 2 eurasian soldiers ran from the direction at which the gunfire originated, their faces sweating and their breath heavy, the Golf squadron members kept their mouth closed but motioned towards the eurasian soldiers to climb up a tree quickly, but their efforts were in vain due to the beast appearing behind or more specifically below the 2 soldiers on the ground.
The Golf squadron could do nothing once again, theyve tried bombing and shooting the ground where the beast hid but couldnt kill it, they could only watch as the soldiers got devoured by the creature as if the soil was the monster itself.
A few more hours passed and it was almost an entire day.
"Serg we cant stay here all day, we need to radio in HQ to inform them about this ground beast!" Golf member 2.
"Do you think that i havent thought of that as well?! the radio is on the ground when our radio man died! and that beast is also on the ground! unless we find a way to deal with it we cant grab the radio" Golf Sergeant.
"But.. just waiting here, cowering, fearing that the creature would kill us wont do anything, so serg i propose a plan, serg you can run for the radio and inform HQ and we will delay the creature" Golf member 2.
"No i will not allow that! dont you have a girl to return to?! that woman is still waiting for her beloved to return! instead let me and the others delay it and please do tell my missus of my final heroic act for our country, dont stop till youve radiod HQ" Golf Sergeant.
As soon as the sergeant responded he immediately jumped from the elevated location and so did the other soldiers, they made loud noises and stomped on the ground chaotically to attract the monsters attention.
"We can only buy you so much time!! now RUN!!" Golf sergeant.
"Carry on our dreams of finding a beautiful missus will you? haha!" Golf member 1 and the other members told him before running in different directions but not too far from each other.
Golf member 2 whose name is Evan wilson, turned and ran without looking back, his final memory of his comrades were their smiling faces just now as they sacrificed themselves for him to escape and contact their headquarters, Evan ran and grabbed the radio and proceeded to keep on running, his hands busy tweaking and adjusting the radio till he got a clear response, he ran into a cave with a stony floor which he was sure was something the beast couldnt penetrate immediately.
"G-golf to nest do you copy?!" Evan.
"Bzzzt Nest to Golf we hear you loud and clear over"
"Golf squadron has been wiped, i repeat Golf squadron has been wi- AAAAAHHHH!" Evan.
Thus how the Golf squadron was wiped out.

Present, Island Headquarters.
"AAAAAHHHH!" Radio.
"Golf squadron! come in golf squadron! Do you copy?!" A soldier receiving evans call.
"Whats wrong Charles?" Communications HQ Leader.
"Sir we have lost contact with the Golf squadron the final thing that was heard from the latest contact was the scream of the member reporting that their squad has been wiped" Communications HQ soldier.
"Sh*t this is gonna be a headache to report, are you positive that was what you heard from the latest contact?" Communications HQ Leader.
"Positive, i heard it loud and clear sir" Communications HQ soldier.
"Write a report and give it to me i'll review and bring it to the admiral, this island is much more dangerous than we imagined, the ape is no longer the only problem we have" The Communications HQ Leader stated with a darkened face before ordering some soldiers to pack the items of the deceased and get them ready for transport to their relatives and spouse's.
