Chapter 8: Training
He drove to the spot Miguel told him to and parked taking off his helmet, seeing his new friend and his sensei "What the hell am I here for?" Miguel's sensei comes over to Zane "Don't be a pussy and follow me." he says walking away Leaving Zane there shocked while Miguel shrugged. "It's a lesson." The three of them walk inside with Miguel asking his sensei why they were there. His sensei grabs a rope tying both of their hands up "What the hell are you doing." As he asked he pushed both of them into the pool with Zane quickly coming back up "What the hell was that for?" The sensei laughed "Training."
Miguel wasn't coming back up when the sensei grabbed him by the hair after a while "I'm drowning." Miguel sad fast while his sensei still had him by the hair "Drowning is for pussies, All right? Don't be a pussy! use your legs!" finishing his sentence he let him go and he submerged into the water again and when he didn't come back up again h said "Maybe I should've asked if he could swim." Zane shook his head thinking that Miguel's sensei was a big idiot while staying afloat kicking his feet at a steady pace.
He grabbed Miguel's hair again pulling him up "Please not again I'll die!" His sensei quickly states "Cobra kai never dies. say it." Miguel repeats his sensei quickly "Cobra ka never dies." he says weakly. "Like your life depends on it!" He quickly repeats himself "Cobra kai never dies!" he says stronger this time. While his sensei leans in a little closer "I'm not gonna help you this time. You have all the power in your legs you need. use it to kick your way up. Do you understand?" Miguel answers "Yes sensei." and He lets his hair go.
Miguel stays under for a brief moment before finally making his way to the surface on his own with the older man screaming "Yes, that's it! keep kicking!" Miguel had been keeping it going along with Zane he had been doing it for ten minutes when some guy suddenly bust open a door "Hey! what the hell are you doing?"
While the man who brought them there says "Oh shit." he says grabbing both Zane and Miguel out of the water "I thought you knew the guy." said Miguel. While his sensei says "I lied." with all three of them running in the direction they came with Zane zooming off on his Motorcycle. Afterwards the next few days they had practiced kicking boards with Zane breaking them pretty easily because of his earlier Karate training coming to play.
After he and Miguel had broke a few boards they both were slipping their socks back on when Miguel spoke out "I wish I could show my mom what I did to those boards, But if she knew where I was right now, she would kill me." Zane got curious "Why?" Miguel answered back saying "She thinks it's a bad influence." Zane nodded putting his attention on his new sensei who had walked over to them he looked troubled while looking at a piece of paper.
