Chapter 12: 12. Siege
The man allowed the skeletons to take him away with his daughter as Sam moved to the cat and looked it over. Sam used summon skeleton on the mutated cat to see if it would raise a normal skeleton or a beast version.
*Spell does not cast on the living*
A notice popped up as Sam cast the spell that made him weary. Raising his sword the cat whine as it look at him in dread. Lowering his sword Sam recalled Spencer and his job and sent Bane to grab him. Inspecting the mutated cat closer a dark mist permeated its large wound. Sam as if by instinct held his hand up and pulled the mist into his hand as the cat growled weakly. The Dark Mana circulated around his hand twice as it was absorbed into his body and a prompt popped up.

Sam's heart raced at the new information he gained from his skill. Focusing back on the mutated cat Sam could see the wound was healing slowly but at a visual rate. A few minutes past as Spencer runs through the door panting.
"You needed me Sam" Spencer asked Sam before jumping backwards after noticing the mutated cat.
"Your job was Beast Tamer right, well I have a beast that you can tame" Sam told Spencer as he started petting the big cat. Sweat poured from Spencer as he knelt down by the beast and placed his hands on its head. A reddish glow came from Spencer's hands and started to cover the beast as a strange symbol was carved in mid air and placed itself on the beasts forehead. Spencer muttered under his breath as the cat whined.
"Just accept the rune, stop being stubborn" Spencer kept saying under his breath as the rune finally sunk into the cat's forehead as Spencer felt a connection to the Cat.
"YES, I did it Sam thank you so much" Spencer was excited as he put his hand back on the cat and a green glow was seen.
"Don't worry Saber this is a healing skill. It will make you better" Spencer talk to the cat gently. Sam left the store as he left a a few skeletons to watch over Spencer as he healed the cat. Looking around the parking lot Sam saw the hardware store being cleaned out of all the useful items and Chris running over to Sam.
"Sam follow me we have a major problem" Chris yelled out to Sam. Sam followed Chris to the far side of the parking lot and up a slightly large embankment. Chris just pointed towards the subdivision in front of them as the scene of almost 200 crazies running after a small group of 15 to 20 people.
"Do we save them or not" Was all Chris asked. Sam stayed quite, thinking to himself quickly.
"Get everyone back in the store and fortify the doors now" Sam tighten his grip on his sword as he recalled all the skeletons. Sam sighed loudly as he cursed himself for what he was going to do.
"OVER HERE QUICKLY" Sam yelled loudly as the group running rushed towards Sam as one more of the group was pounced on and ripped to pieces. Bane and Truth were the first to stand next to Sam as Chris ran to do what Sam asked.
"MasTer Has CallEd" Bane hissed out as Truth almost dropped her spear from the scene of hundred over crazies.
"Prepare for battle Bane" Sam commanded as he stared at Truth and just whispered sorry. The group was still a little ways out as all of the skeletons had formed up behind Bane. Sam looked back at the parking lot to see everyone rushing to the grocery store as a small group of fighters ran towards Sam. Chris had gathered volunteers to hold back the horde and give everyone time to get inside. AJ and 3 others were the first to follow Chris as he asked only one question.
"Do you pledge your life to the order" Chris asked with conviction as the four nodded at the same time as a black light engulfed them. The light receded as the four where now wearing a plate cuirass as one appeared on Chris. Chris brought his new knights to line up behind Sam and Truth as he walked next to Sam.
"I completed my next task" Chris jokingly told Sam. Sam shook his head and laughed as he stared at the oncoming crowd. The group being chased was close to Sam's as 3 arrows, a ice spike and a stone bullet fell into the horde of crazies. Sam looked to where the attacks came from to see Jenna, Joey and 3 others on the roof of the grocery store.
"Keep making your way to the grocery store don't stop" Sam yelled out at the skeletons marched forwards.
"Bane, you and the 2 awakened stay with me" Bane nodded as Sam commanded.
"We are only delaying. Do not get stuck in" Sam told the group as they pulled shields and weapons. The small group now down to 13 survivors ran past Sam and his group yelling thanks as they wept at being saved.
"Keep running don't stop" Sam yelled as the skeletons interrupted the horde of crazies from moving forward. Jenna and her group continued to rain arrows and spells onto the horde as Sam reinforced his skeletons from the sides as he raised more skeletons as he killed crazies. Sam looked to the grocery store seeing the last person running inside.
" We're pulling back to the grocery store" Sam yelled as he sliced a head off of a crazie. Using the skeletons as a screen Sam and his group pulled back to the grocery. The notifications sounded in Sam's head back to back as he tried to focus on getting everyone back to the grocery.
*Level 2 crazed cannibal killed*
*Summon skeleton raised to level 3*
*Level 2 crazed cannibal killed*
*Skeleton lost*
As the group made it to the front door Sam noticed that a barricade had been made to funnel in the cannibals inside the store.
"Chris, Truth on me everyone else through the door" Sam yelled as AJ and the knights ran into the door and took position in the kill zone. Spells and Arrows continued to pepper the cannibals as they ran for the open door as Sam, Chris and Truth held the door with every ounce of strength they could muster. Sam activated Dark Mana as the dark mist spread to his sword. Almost as if he was siphoning strength from the crazies his wounds were healing and he felt less tired as slashed and stabbed. Truth on the other hand started to glow white as the glow started to form the shape of wings. Her attacks grew sharper and faster as almost every jab was to the heart or head. Chris had turned into a meat masher as as every hit crushed skulls and caved in bodies. But the situation changed as a loud screech sounded out over the parking lot.
