Chapter 299: Harbingers of Decay

All parties had to come to an end. Serenica collected her sensibility from her room in a comfortable inn.

There were cigarette thumbs on the ashtray, there was some water on the nightstand, and most of all, there were gold coins scattered all over the place. Serenica didn't know where they had come from.

She felt empty and complete at the same time, and when she finally found out the current weekday and the time, she was shocked to learn just how many working days she had wasted while being completely wasted.

Luckily, Ed was present with his herbal expertise. He knew which teas helped and what to avoid.

"You need to stop doing this."

They were sitting in the large room downstairs. The sound of coffee being stirred with a spoon filled Serenica's head.

"I have tried," she said. "People keep wanting me to celebrate something with them. I do not know why I am always the one who has to drink their weight in booze."
