Chapter 290: Secret Signals

Serenica had to win the game. She knew her man was not the card shark he thought he was. Their hope was that Myorka and the healer would be able to work together to win the game, but even if that failed, they could still read the faces of the players.

On her left was a governor with some lesser noble blood from a tiny island just north of the capital. He was a sly, verbally intelligent man, opinionated but clever enough to stay quiet about it. His ink black wig was always a bit lopsided for unknown reasons.

He would have been an obvious candidate.

Next to the governor sat a man with blue blood in his veins. For a noble, he was very practical and his aim with a gun was rumored to beat the best shooters in any army. Ambitious and steadfast, he was considered a nice fellow by everyone who knew him.

This nobleman was also under suspicion.
