Chapter 156: Most Wives

They were very near to a ship that carried supplies for an expedition, or that was what the good old captain said. They had to act fast.

There was a constant battle drumming heard on the ship. The men took turns at the drum, and they encouraged each other – the sailors this far in the west had to be tough prey to fare in such extreme conditions. The pirates needed every last morsel of good luck they could get.

Blackbones was at the helm and Spade was in his cabin, probably constructing protective spells for his boys. The drumming got into Serenica's blood and her bones and she began to walk, talk and think to the rhythm of the upcoming battle.

When the white sails finally appeared on the horizon, all throats let out a victorious roar, as if the prey had been secured already.
