Chapter 25: sᴇᴄᴏɴᴅ.
They left the princess and the king's twin alone inside the room. This made the queen nervous because she can't seem to remember if Reiki got the family crest. He should have it, that's what she thought. If he doesn't have it, then, who is he? She made love with him and sooner, she will carry his child.
Reiki took his upper clothes off and Fuyu furrowed her brows when she didn't see any crest but when he turned around, she felt relieved that he got it on his lower back. She started thinking why he got light brown eyes instead of dark brown ones. They are identical twins and perhaps, it changed when they grew up. Still, she feels that something is wrong. She took her seat on the bed once again.
"I can feel that you're hiding something." She said and Reiki wore his clothes again before smiling at her.
"What should I hide from you or from everyone?" He asked and she doesn't know how to answer that. Maybe she should ask him unnecessary questions to know some things about him.
"You're my real father, right? Tell me." She asked and he stopped for a while. His reaction made her uneasy. Is she right about it?
"How did you know?" He asked instead. She saw that his eyes were getting teary. Ever since she was a child, she craves for a father's love.
"Y-you're my real father? How did that happen?" Tears fell from her eyes and she started sobbing quietly. She can't believe any of these. She must be wrong for asking that question.
"I love your mother. I love you as my daughter. I'm your biological father." She shook her head and covered her ears. He knelt in front of her and held her wrists gently.
"Listen to me. Your mother should not know about this. I want to keep her safe here. I want to keep you and the little princess safe here. Promise me? Promise me, please." He whispered before hugging her.
She tried to struggle from him but her intuition is telling her that he is telling the truth. How did this happen? Her whole life until now just became a lie. She doesn't know who to believe already. She cried more and slowly, she hugged him back. She wished this day to come and she never thought it will turn out like this. A part of her is telling her that she should be happy that her real father is not that evil but how can she accept that when she doesn't even know the whole truth?
"I want to know all, the whole truth." She cried softly and he released her from his hug. He cupped her cheeks and wiped her tears and then, kissed her forehead.
"I'll tell you the whole truth but little by little, okay? Stop crying now. Your mother will notice that I made you cry." He said in a low but soft voice. She nodded slowly and tried to calm herself.
"Are you really my father?" She asked once more for confirmation and he nodded. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She needs to know the whole truth soon.
When Gia went back inside the room, Fuyu was already taking her rest. She saw Reiki standing near the window and staring outside. She walked closer and he turned around to look at her. He held her in his arms and hugged her gently. This made her smile as it eases her worries.
"I'm convincing her to stay here. She will be safe here with the little princess." He mumbled and she nodded while hugging him back.
"I want to ask some questions, Reiki." She looked up at him and he gestured to her to go on. Since Fuyu asked him to show his body, she also wants to know if he got the family crest.
"Do you have the family crest?" She asked and he nodded. He saw in her eyes that he needed to prove it, so he lifted the hem of his upper clothes and showed his lower back.
"You really got it." She muttered and she traced it with her fingertips. She covered it with his clothes again and she smiled softly.
"Also, I want to ask if there's a possibility for us to go to heaven and meet Itsuki and Hokuto? Also, Makoto." She bit her lower lip when she asked.
Of course, she can't just forget and move on from Itsuki to him. She married him when they were in the human world and they got a child. Will there be any peace between the two worlds? She hopes so. Her heart may be confused that she is staying by Reiki's side but she can't ignore her remaining love for Itsuki. Yes, she still loves Itsuki. He is her first love and as they said, first love never dies.
"It will be risky. The king might sense your demonic powers when you get out of the realm." He explained and she nodded. She can't just always take a risk. She also needs to think about her next steps.
"But the king and the prince will surely look for me and my daughter. This will cause a war between the demons and nephalems." She turned her head to look at her sleeping daughter.
"I will protect you and the princess. Shohei is also there to protect her." He held her hand and pulled her out the room to take a quick stroll outside.
"Do you have any plans on fighting against the king?" She asked when they arrived at the realm's garden.
"There will be time that I will need to fight him. This realm is my safe haven but I can't stay here forever. I need to face him." He let her take a seat on the wooden bench first. He followed and smiled when she hugged his arm with her head on his shoulder.
He craved for these soft and sweet moments with the queen before. There are more secrets and things to unveil and sooner or later, the truth will set them all free. He is just wishing that Gia will not hate him for what he has done in the past. He hopes that she will understand why he did those. He hopes she will love him back as well.
