Chapter 1: New Friends
"We are here Candice, wake up sleepy head." I hear my mom while she shook my leg.
I opened my eye and saw a beautiful two story house in the middle of the woods. It was so peaceful, I loved the woods and rain. It always gave me peace of mind. Apollo was laying on my legs still sleeping.
"Come on boy wake up." I said rubbing his head.
He woke up and looked at me then licked my hand.
"Are you ready for our run in our new home cause I know I am." I said in a high pitched voice like I was talking to a baby.
He wagged his stumped and it looked funny so I giggled and got out of the car. He then got up and followed.
I grabbed all my stuff from the back of the truck and walked to the door. The door was already open from my mom.
"Which room is mine?" I asked my mom walking in the door.
"Up the stairs second door on the left." She smiled.
I followed my mom's instructions and found my room. I opened the door and oh my gosh it was huge. It had a walk in closet, its own bathroom which had a huge shower and a sink, then the rest of the space was filled my bed and a couch and a hanging tv, with a ps5 and all the games I liked to play. My bed was a queen with a black spread and dark blue sheets. I walked into my closet and unpacked everything even though it was pretty much all workout clothes.
I knew I wanted to go the beach which was only like 2 miles from my house. So I grabbed my navy blue bikini then put on a black t-shirt and black Nike shorts. I then grabbed a towel and beaded downstairs.
"Mom, dad I'm going to go for a run to the beach and I'm going to hang out there for awhile." I yelled walking out the door.
"Ok have fun be home before 8 because we have a dinner party to go to at 9." My mom yelled back.
I closed the door and popped in my headphones and started my running playlist, It only took me 10 minutes to get the beach because I'm a fast runner.
No one was at the beach it was farley sunny today. I laid out my towel and took off my shirt and shorts and laid on my towel.
I guess I had fallen asleep because I was rudely awakened by a football to the my side. I was pissed and yes I know my temper if very short. I then glared at the group of boys from where the ball had come from there were about 7 shirtless, muscular guys. I stood up and threw the ball back with full force and of course I had a good arm from playing with my cousins and also softball. It had hit one of the boys in the face. The boy was about 14 he was obviously the youngest of the group and the ball had hit him smack on the side of his face. I then stopped glaring at the rest of the boys when I noticed it hit the boy I felt so bad for him because I don't mean to hit him and I know for a fact it hurt. I ran to where the boy was he was kneeling on the floor with his hand cupped on the side of his face. I quickly pushed past all of the other guys and knelt down to the boys.
"Oh my gosh I am so sorry kiddo I didn't mean to hit you in the face I was hoping one of your friends would have caught it but I guess not." I said placing my hand on his shoulder.
"It's ok it didn't hurt that bad just a little sting." He said turning to me.
"Well I'm glad I didn't hurt you to bad." I smiled and stood up holding my hand out for him to take.
He took my hand and stood up.
"That was a hell of a throw!" One of the boy yelled.
I turned to see who it was he was muscular like the rest. I also noticed they all had brown russet skin that glowed in the sun and they all had short jet black hair. Lastly they were all very warm like fever warm I could feel the heat radiating off their bodies.
"Thanks." I smiled.
"My names Jake." He stuck out his hand for me to shake.
"Maddie." I shook his hand.
"I'm Seth." The boy who I had hit with the ball said next.
They all introduced themselves. There was Quil, Embry, Sam, Jared.
"And I'm Paul." The last boy said not looking at me in the face but my body.
I could tell Paul was obviously the player.
"It was nice meeting you guys." I smiled turning so I could walk back to my towel.
"Hey do you wanna play football with us for a while?" Sam asked.
"Sure I guess I could play a game." I smiled.
"Ok teams are Me, Paul and Jake and then Maddie, Quil Jared and Seth. And boys go easy on Maddie." He said grabbing the ball from Seth.
I was good at every position in football but I was really good at defense of tackle. SO I told the boys I would take on Paul and the rest of them could take on whoever.
"I don't think that's a good idea Paul is very aggressive and competitive when it comes to sports." Embry warned.
"I think I'll be fine." I laughed.
"Ok whatever you say." He laughed and looked at me with hope in his eyes hoping I wouldn't get hurt by Paul.
Jake was QB (Quarter Back) for his team and I knew he was going to throw it to Paul because he kept eyeing him.
"Hike!" Jake yelled.
I backed up waiting for Paul to come to where he was going to catch the ball. Paul was running my way looking back for the ball. Jake threw the ball and Paul caught it. I then charged Paul full speed opened my arms latched them around Paul's torso and tackled him with full force. He hit the ground with a thud and I landed on top of him then getting up quickly.
"Damn Maddie your strong!" Jared yelled high fiving me.
"Never have I seen someone take down Paul before!" Sam laughed patting me on the back.
I then felt someone's hand on my arm and it swung me around. It was Paul you grabbed me and I was now facing a very angry dude.
"Let go of my arm." I said sternly.
When I said this I knew he was even more pissed than before because he gripped tightened.
"I said LET MY ARM GO!" I yelled in his face.
"Don't yell at me you BITCH!" He screamed back.
"Who do you think your calling a bitch?" I yelled.
"Who else would I be talking to." He screamed.
"Well I know it ain't me because I will slap the shit out of you if you call me a bitch again." I said ripping my arm from his grip and turned walking away cause I knew I couldn't handle my temper.
"What a bitch" He laughed talking to Jake.
I then turned around walked up to Paul and slapped the shit out of his face. I hit him so hard even his russet skin had a red mark. By this time he was shaking. I knew now that he was a hothead just like I was.
"Paul calm down!" Same yelled.
He was still shaking. I was over this hard ass attitude of his so I walked up closer to him stepped on my tiptoes grabbing his shoulder for a boost and kissed his check where I had slapped him then walked away.
I walked back to my towel and then to the water. The guys were shocked from what I had done. I didn't care I just didn't feel like dealing with Paul's dumb temper. I ducked under the water and swam under for a while. The water was freezing but felt nice, I then poked my head up from the water and swam back to shore. I guess I looked like a model in slowmo with my hair wet and soaking wet body from the stares I was getting from the guys. I was used to this so I just giggled and walked to my towel.
I then felt my ass sting. Someone had slapped my ass. I wiped around and looked to see who it was. Of course if was Paul.
"You know if hard to stay mad at someone with such a nice ass." He smirked looking me up and down.
"mhmm so I've heard." I smirked then turned around to grab my towel and then I was lifted of the ground, and spun around so my legs were around Paul's torso and his hands were under my ass.
"You know you have a bitchy attitude." He said looking at me but not in the eyes.
"I know, now put me down, I have to get home." I said trying to get out of his grip.
He then put me down and walked away but before walking away he whispered in my ear "Feisty I like it". I just shook my head and smiled. I then slipped on my shirt and shorts then grabbed my towel. I waved goodbye to the guys and then started my run home.
