Chapter 17: A set of work clothes

Kaili immediately got down and walked into the living room.  There she found Dexter sleeping.  Dexter was very tall.  Sleeping on a small sofa like this would make him uncomfortable.  Especially without a blanket, even though the air was still a little cool.  Kaili returned to the room, took the blanket.  When she was about to wrap Dexter's body in the blanket, the two of them met.  Dexter was already awake when Kaili's hand was still in the air lifting the blanket.

Dexter's expression was very cold, as if he wanted to blame for being disturbed from his sleep, which was still only a few hours.  Suddenly, Kaili felt as if she had been splashed with a truck of ice chips, making her freeze.  The little room was cold.  Such a look in Dexter's eyes made anyone felt as if his soul was wandering.

 "Hemp ... I-I ..."

Before Kaili was done with what she said.  Dexter had risen with a very hostile look.  His eyes continued to stare at Kaili with an arrogant and contemptuous look.  Not wanting to stay near Kaili for a long time, Dexter immediately walked away without a word, past Kaili whose hand was still floating in the air with the blanket being held.

"Dexter .... I-" Kaili tried to call Dexter. She wanted to straighten out last night.  Kaili was afraid, if Dexter thought that she was deliberately torturing herself by soaking in cold water at night to get the man's attention, but let alone turn to look at her, Dexter didn't even bother to stop.  He continued walking, as if he thought Kaili's summons were just air.

Kaili looked at Dexter's lost body in the door.  She wanted to cry strongly, but was afraid that the crying would be seen as a seeking attention only.

Kaili was actually very surprised at herself.  Her heart was too sensitive.  Dexter didn't harm or torture her, didn't even say anything that offended her, but every time, Kaili got Dexter's gaze that was so cold, somehow her heart felt very sore.  Grimace!  In fact, it felt like all of her bones were crushed.

Those that were held back, finally flowed too.  The pure water leaked out of its source, wetting the cheekbones.  Kaili sniffled a few times, before finally taking a strong breath and releasing roughly.

"No, Kaili, you have to be strong!  Wipe your tears.  How embarrassed would it be if Dexter sees you cry?  He will think of you as if you're acting," Kaili muttered to herself.

"Do I have to get his clothes ready for work?  Is he going to use it?"  Kaili asked herself again.  "But that's how it should be, right?  Mama often prepares clothes for Papa to go to work, I better have to prepare clothes for Dexter, before he finishes taking a shower."

Kaili hurriedly went to the room.  Opened the wardrobe and then confused herself.  She had absolutely no idea what clothes to wear for Dexter to the hospital.  A little confused too with the arrangement of Dexter's clothes, there were too many suits that should be worn in an office.  Was Dexter wearing a full suit with a vest while performing surgery?  The question flashed in Kaili's mind, unconsciously she laughed at the thought.  Until the sound of approaching footsteps stopped her action.

Kaili shut her mouth tightly, afraid that it would made Dexter turned more strangely at her.  Really, right now, the thing she wanted to do the most was get rid of everything that would make Dexter's bad judgment about her.  Kaili had to try hard for that.  Hope that by doing so, Dexter's judgment on her because past events could be lost soon.  After all, they were husband and wife, no matter how the relationship occurred, a husband and wife should have a good relationship.  They have been chosen to be partners in life, so there was nothing wrong if Kaili started to show her sincerity, because she was the root of this problem. She's the one who created Dexter's hatred.

When he got out of the bathroom, Dexter immediately caught Kaili in front of the cupboard with a suit in her hand.  Seeing that, Dexter's face darkened again.

"Have you finished showering?  I-I have prepared your clothes.  This is ... " Kaili pointed to the bed, at the end of which was already a set of work clothes.

Dexter saw that, then turned to look at the jacket in Kaili's hand with a grim face.

Kaili noticed Dexter's gaze.  Quickly she explained.  "Ah, th-this ..." Kaili had a hard time finding excuses. She was unable to finish her words.

Dexter walked towards where Kaili was standing.  The closer Dexter's steps got, the more Kaili's heart seemed to explode.  He won't get angry, right?  Am I too presumptuous?  Kaili asked herself.

A few steps before Dexter arrived near her, Kaili immediately opened her voice, "I'm sorry ... I know, this is too presumptuous.  I opened your wardrobe without permission, but I just want to help you.  I want to prepare clothes for you to work.  You won't get angry, right?"

Didn't know what motivated Kaili to speak so fluently.  Even so, she spoke a lot of words.

Just as Kaili finished with her words, Dexter was already standing before her eyes.  Their distance was only one elbow.  "Preparing work clothes? You forget or are hallucinating, I'm not a director of a large company, nor a director at the hospital where I work. Do you think I need that suit? "

 Oh, gosh!  Kaili froze.
