Chapter 6: Chapter 6

It was around 3:30 am, Rome fluttered his eyes open, the room was dark and nothing was visible, rome felt steady breathing besides him and he looked at Ray, who had stayed overnight just because he was worried about him.

Rome and Ray moved on this silver street when they were in middle school because their parents settled abroad for business. They have always been there for each other. They have shared bed till they were 14 but now they just don't.

Rome had a soft smile on his face, as he looked at Ray. He feels safe in the arms of his best friends and he always wonder if he is gonna feel the same when he gets married in future. Argh...whatever, there is a long way ahead of me and I am still young for marriage. I am only 17. For now let me enjoy this warmth. It's been three years........

Rome snuggled in Ray's arms, he hid his face in Ray's chest and let's out contented sigh when Ray placed a arm on his waist. It's okay for me to be like this for a while right?

There was a loud ringing noise, Rome got up and turned the alarm off that made a vertical line indicating it was exact 6:00. Rome sighed and shook the person laying besides him,"Ray wake up or we will be late. It's already 6 now."

Ray said some incoherent words, fending off the hand shaking him and hiding his face in the blanket,"5 more minutes please...."

Seeing that Ray was not waking up, Rome clenched his teeth and pulled the blanket with all his might,"Seriously Ray GET UP NOW!!!" Ray gave up his sleep and sat on the bed, rubbing his eyes lazily,"Fine I am up now."

Rome folded the blanket neatly,"Good. Now I am gonna go take a shower and you go to your house and take one too, We will meet at 6:30."

Ray nodded and got up from the bed,"What about breakfast?"

Rome clicked his tongue,regretfully,"We are already late so let's just grab cream bread from that the grandma's shop down the street."

Ray nodded again and then suddenly walked towards Rome, the distance between them merely a few inches, Rome's breath caught in his throat and no words came out of his mouth, Ray bent down a bit to lower himself at Rome's height, then he placed his palm on Rome's forehead,"Hmm...The fever subsided."

Ray walked a away and Rome finally knew how to breathe.

Ray and Rome stood infront of the room used by teacher also known as Staff room, They both looked at each other before Ray opened the sliding door, it made a scrapping noise and there was something on the track causing obstruction so it can't operate smoothly.

The boys walked in, all the teachers seemed to be busy working, there was books, papers, files pilled up on each and every desk.

Ray murmured,"Oh my god! Looking at this places makes me want to run away. So many book..." Rome chuckled a liitle seeing his bestfriend making a annoyed face. He knows how much Ray hates books.

Rome patted his back,"Let's submit these rules and get out of here."

As soon as Rome finished a middle aged man approached them, he was using a stick for a support to walk,"Kids what are you doing here?"

Rome greeted,"Good morning Sir. We were looking for Miss Doris, she has asked us to come meet her here."

The middle aged man, also known as Mason or ugly face (nickname given by students) is their history teacher. He has an grumbling personality. He always makes a crunched up face whenever he meets a student.

Mason pointed his finger in the right,"She is there." Rome and Ray just nodded as Mason walked away, grumbling,"These kids, Don't even know how to thank their teachers, I hate Kids."

After Mason was out of sight, Ray said in a low voice,"If he hates Kids so much, why the hell did he become a teacher?" Rome shrugged,"Who Knows."

Ray and Rome walked in the direction that Mason pointed at, they found Miss Doris sitting in between the piles of books, Rome and Ray greeted together,"Good morning Ma'am."

Miss Doris took a glance at them,"Oh! It's the two trouble makers from yesterday....So? Have you finished writing the rules?"

"Yes Ma'am"

Ray and Rome handed her their punishment. She took it and kept it on the pile of papers,"Okay you can go now. The class will start in a few minutes."

Ray and Rome entered their classroom, Ray saw the boys from yesterday, the ones who played the silly prank yesterday during the break. Ray walked towards them, anger filled in his eyes, blood rushing in his viens, he was not angry at them because he got punished but because he thought they were the ones responsible for yesterday evening's incident.

The boys that were laughing a few seconds ago, stopped and looked at Ray. The person who was sitting in between asked,"What do you need?"

Ray grabbed his collar and lifted him up,"Were you the one to lock Rome in the washroom yesterday evening and pour cold water on him?"

Everyone' attention was now on Ray and the guy, Rome walked toward them and held Ray's arm,"Ray what are you doing? Let go of him."

However Ray ignored Rome and pulled the collar a bit more, making it tigher around the guy's neck who felt a shiver down his spine when he looked into Ray's eyes,"I don' know what you are talking about?"

Ray glared at him,"Don't act like you know nothing."

The guy said,"I really don't know anything. What are you talking about? I did play a prank on you guys during the break time but that was it. I don't know anything else. Yesterday evening I was at my friend's place you can ask him. I am telling the truth!"

Ray didn't believe that and was going to punch him but then Rome yelled,"Ray stop it!" Ray hearing this let go the collar and the guy fell on his knees, coughing a bit.

Ray went to sit on his seat as if nothing happened, Rome followed him,"What the hell are you doing Ray? We only got punishment yesterday. We don't want to get in more trouble now."

Ray sighed,"But they were the ones who hurt you."

Rome sat down besides him,"And how can you be sure that they were the ones?"

To that Ray couldn't answer, sure the guys played a prank but it was meant for anyone who opens the door, they surely won't go that far to hurt only Rome.

Ray bit his lower lips,"Sorry."

Rome sighed,"You should apologize to him and let's forget about what happened yesterday okay? We can't find out who did it anyway. let's just think of it as a prank."

Ray said,"I will apologize to him and I will not look for that person for now but if by any chance he harms you again that will be his doom."

Rome smiled,"Okay."

Rome and Ray didn't drag the topic anymore because their class teacher arrived.
