"Take us down buddy," you ordered your personal giant demon dragon, "It's time to get Salamon to the champion level as well."
Devidramon heaved a deep sigh, "You realize she's only been alive a day right?" he commented as he began to descend towards the ground, "Sure basically reincarnation and all, and she automatically inherited a lot of knowledge from her previous self, but she's literally jumping from an In-training to a Champion in the span of a day. That's not normal boss."
"Yeah we're pretty awesome aren't we?" you replied, with a smile as Devidramon touched ground and lowered you to your feet. He sighed.
"Just put me back in the digivice so I can get back to work. boss."
"Touchy huh?" you mused with a chuckle, but did as he said and returned him, switching him out for Salamon who plopped out in front of you super cute as always.
"Are you sure this is okay boss?" she asked, tilting her adorable little head cutely, "I have not yet even took part in a fight to help, I don't feel right taking the data earned by the others."
You waved her off, "It's fine," you dismissed her concerns, "You're my cute little digimon now, so getting you nice and strong so nobody can hurt you is my main goal, and if it bothers you so much, you can just pay them back later by beating others yourself and giving them the data."
She sighed before nodding, "Very well boss," she replied, "I shall endeavour to meet your expectations and repay my new brothers what they have given me so freely."
With that said, she took on a familiar pose, arms outstretched and absorbed all four different collections of data.
Then exploded into bright white light.
"Salamon digivolve to....Gatomon!"
The minute the light receded. You were upon her. Cheering you lifted her up into the air and happily nuzzled your cheek against her white soft furry one.
She sighed. "Really boss?" the white cat digimon deadpanned.
While cuddling Gatomon you noticed something you'd forgotten about. Her Holy Ring. to be fair, it was such a minor thing only really touched on in the anime as a way to nerf Gatomon so that the edgy blue haired kid wouldn't just get his shit punched in.
You used the Copy and Paste skill to scan it into your digivice. And then set it to automatically stay on your finger. When you dismissed your golden chrome digizoid gauntlets, you found your right index finger wearing a smaller version of the holy ring around your newest digimon's tail.
The defence buffs it gave were pretty amazing.
After returning Gatomon to your digivice, you attempted to use the Gate skill to leave Kowloon.
You face palmed when you remembered,"That's right, I gave it to Ruki."
You sighed in annoyance, but at least you know she has an instant escape avenue if she comes back to Kowloon again.
Which reminded you.
On the way back, you pulled up up your terminal and called her.
A few moments later, her faced appeared on your screen, and what looked like a room. "Hey, so you got away okay then?" you asked her.
She rolled her eyes, "Yeah, but I should be asking you that idiot," the redhead replied, "So how did that fight go?"
"Not gonna lie, it was the hardest fight we've had yet," you admitted, "Even with both Garurumon and Black Greymon it was a bit touch and go because of that things chrome digizoid armor."
Ruki bit her lip, "Couldn't you use like modify cards to help you?"
You shook your head and sent her a raised eyebrow, "Nope, can't do anything like that, would be cool if I could though," you replied, "Why do you ask?"
Ruki bit her lip a bit harder before shaking her head, "No reason."
Well, a bit odd she'd bring the cards up specifically. Especially with her other little slip ups. She definitely knows more about digimon being real than she's letting on. But well, it didn't really bother you. It's not like you outright told her your secrets right? And you were the one to bring up the whole digimon in Eden thing with her anyway as an in to flirt with her.
"So where are you now?" you asked.
"I'm at home, I couldn't get back into your private server," she replied, "I had to come back anyway because I've got a few things to take care of right now."
Well that's fine. You were kind of beat after that mess anyway.
She turned her head to the side and shushed someone and flushed slightly when she saw your raised eyebrow, "Look, I've gotta go, I'll talk to you at school tomorrow." Ruki hurriedly said.
"Sure, see you then." you smiled at her and bid her goodbye.
Just before hanging up she bit her lip again and sent you a look, "I'm gonna send you something later okay? Just as bit of gratitude for your help."
You raised your second eyebrow, but before you could say anything she hung up.
And then you went on to leave. You headed back to your private resort after leaving Kowloon, and got to work on coding. You spent easily ten hours at it, the first two going in to just making a hammock good enough for Devidramon, and the next eight went into making a new Gate skill.
You'd grumbled quite a bit about how Ruki better be grateful. But it wasn't until you logged out you realised how grateful she actually was when you saw you had an email from her.
'Look, you helped me out a ton today and you went above and beyond what I I initially asked you for, and you got nothing out of it. I'm not saying I'm into you or anything, but at this point, I wouldn't mind getting to know you more.
Oh, and this is to help with the massive case of blue balls I put you through dude.'
It was an image. An Image of Ruki herself laying flat on her back atop a bed, completely nude, her hair down from its usual spiky ponytail and falling in long luscious orange waves. Your pants hit the ground faster than even Garurumon could run.
