Chapter 56: 56. How It Begins

Laura walked through the apartment and searched every detail in there. Alice and Diana could just watch her mom inspected the room. Alice couldn't do anything to save her sister from getting lectured by her mom once a month. She also had her turn when her mom came to visit Alice's apartment, but it's her sister's turn now.

"So, how's work?" She started right away even before dinner.

Diana tried to smile, "Why don't we just sit and enjoy the dish that I made first."

That's the only thing to postpone the fucked up question that could make her pride dropped. It was more complicated than it looks, something might have changed if she didn't assure her mom. She tested and challenged her own family.

"Well, what do we have here?"

Diana had plate everything on the table, she had steak, pasta, and everything she had in the fridge was cooked perfectly for this evening. "Bring the wine here," She told Alice to open it because their mom really loved red wine.
