Chapter 65: Resurrected Friendship

Fate was mocking me and Gardoza too. I must admit I was partly responsible for the death of Gardoza; I threw the onus on the feet of Dordo the other part. The dead detective’s game was a double sword that cut both ways. He persisted, blindsided by his greed. There are many ways to skin a cat; the imminent danger posed by Gardoza to myself was easily averted and solved. I preempted to remove the sword of Damocles hanging over my head not knowing that even if I did nothing I would still be on top. I could categorically state now that the death of Gardoza was his fault. When the prosecutor dropped my case, he should have relented.
