Chapter 17: XVII• Walk of Shame.

Raven had thought that when she'd finally get into a situationship, it'd be like it was in novels.

That time would seem to pass more slowly, that the air would smell of flowers and her heart would constantly be peaceful and content.

But she'd been wrong.

So very wrong.

Time couldn't have gone by any faster, and there she was, at the threshold of her school, hands locked in Hayden's, who seemed like he'd pass out any moment.

Nothing about the air smelled of roses, it was all the stench of doom and despair.

And her heart?

Boy, was it pounding against her ribcage.

"R-raven", She heard Hayden's voice.

And she could almost cry.

He sounded so small, so afraid.

Maybe it was because she'd been around him for the most part of the holiday, seen his confident side peek out every once in a while, but Raven had almost forgotten how insecure of himself Hayden could get.
