Chapter 12: Gathering my courage
(Kassandra POV)
After Kara left, I was left alone, with no other woman for me. I dramatically laid my hand in my forehead and threw myself on the bed "Oh God! What will I do with no woman in here to keep me company!? Why God!? WHYYY!!!" I rolled closer to Clementine and started to poke her face "Why did you make her leave?" she just looked away and puffed "Tell me, tell me, tell meeeeeeeee. I'll give you anything you want" these last words caught her interest and she looked at me
"Anything..." she muttered "Food? No... a pony maybe... a hat. A hat? I know what I want, I want a very cool hat!" I was expecting for her to ask for food or something normal kids would want but a hat is cheaper than those other things
"We have a deal then, tell me everything and I will give you the coolest hat I find, but you need to give me time, if you want a lame hat I can give you one tomorrow, but, if you want a super dope hat you need to wait, I have the feeling that this week or month we will find a hat so dope that you will never want to be apart of it!"
I don't now why, but this feeling was good and bad, good because of the hat, and bad because of the way I would get it, I don't know how it will happen but if I learned something in 7000 years of life is to trust my instincts. (Btw, does anyone knows any good music/songs? Every day I listen to the same songs while writing and I really need new ones for extra inspiration. And I changed Clementine's nickname for Clem instead of Cleo)
"I asked her to go because you said she was only going to say for while, not the hole afternoon. And I wanted to spend time with you too" The last part was barely audible but I heard it, I rolled even closer and embraced her
"If you told me you wanted that I would have sent her off in less than a hour, but it's getting late so we better sleep, if you want I could tell you a story"
She seemed very excited about me telling a story so she laid down in the bed by my side and I started my story
"Three brothers, travelling along a lonely, winding road at twilight reached a deep treacherous river where anyone who attempted to swim or wade would drown. Learned in the magical arts, the brothers conjured a bridge with their wands and proceed to cross.
Halfway through the bridge, a hooded figure stood before them. The figure was the enraged spirit of Death, cheated of his due. Death cunningly pretended to congratulate them and proceeds to award them with gifts of their own choosing.
The eldest brother, a combative man, asked for a wand more powerful than any in existence. Death granted his wish by fashioning the Elder Wand from a branch of a nearby elder tree standing on the banks of the river. The second brother, an arrogant man, chose to further humiliate death, and asked for the power to recall the deceased from the grave. Death granted his wish by crafting the Resurrection Stone from a stone picked from the riverbank. The third and youngest brother, who was the most humble and wise, did not trust Death and asked for something to enable him to go forth without Death being able to follow. A reluctant Death, most unwillingly, handed over a part his own Invisibility cloak.
The three brothers took their prizes and soon went on their separate ways." I snapped my fingers and the candle's fire extinguished
"Why did you stop? That story is so good. And this candle thing was really cool"
I chuckled "We will continue tomorrow, I promise. Right now we shall sleep!" I positioned myself in my Sleep Position and so did Clementine and she slept in a matter of seconds. In less than 5 minutes she was already clinged in me, I was tired of waiting already...
(3 weeks later)
In the past weeks we only followed our usual routine, wake up, eat, play, talk, and the additional thing, build my house with Kara's help and finally, the house planning was ready and we just needed to build it, Kara hired lots of builders with so it will be ready really fast.
I'm also thinking about something, asking Kara out for dinner, I would leave Clementine with some kind of guard magic that won't let her leave the room unless it's and actual emergency and will get rid of any one that enters with any ill intentions (Ill intentions would be like entering the room on purpose not accidentally) that spell's attack power was low but enough to take care of like, 30 normal humans with ease.
With the main problem out of the way, I started to gather every drop of courage from my body and soul, and walked towards Kara, lightly putting my hand on her shoulder I asked "Kara"
"What's up?"
"I've been wanting to ask you this for a few days, do you want to go on a dinner with me tonight?" her face got red and she started to panic
"Y-yes of-of course I want to go to d-dinner with you tonight"
(Suspicious guy POV from last night)
I bumped into a blonde woman with blue eyes, the reason she got my attention was how rare it was to see someone with these features in these region. I started to feel something off about her, very weak traces of magic, but I am sure that it isn't hers, this magic, is wicked and dark, the true owner of this energy has killed hundreds of thousands of people.
Maybe I am finally going to find someone worthy of my power.
The power sharing method sure is unusual but for me it will be so much fun, our fight is going to be legendary, even though I don't think I will loose, I am Baekseo the Best in the World, currently undefeated, there's no way I will loose to someone in this town, but I sure hope that I can find my sucessor here (His mind is really crazy that's why he's contradicting himself after every sentence)
