Chapter 97: A Necessary Evil

Inside the drawing room when the sudden talk was occurring, the pendulum clock was the only one making a sound for a while, so consistent, almost unsettling. The room was so wide that even though it was filled with more than two dozen men, it still left many spaces for movement. They were all standing, surrounding the room as a silent crowd for Marvel and Sergei, the only people sitting on the chairs facing each other - apparently, the main characters of the night.

Even though Sergei thought that Marvel was quite daring to come out like that, he believed he was reckless. He never expected the crime boss himself would show up at his door, confronting him - after all, a Mafia boss' identity isn't something to be freely exposed like that - but in his house of all places, he could rest assured since he had the upper hand.
