I looked around at the new dimension as Scathath watched the portal close behind us. I didn't think too much on that one, that didn't seem too important when we were suddenly being ambushed.
Black skinned wrinkly beings were suddenly surrounding us. They all held spears that looked sharp enough to cut through armor, but I guess I would have no way to test that anyway.
They didn't speak, just grumbled and looked at us with their beady eyes.
"Something tells me these things aren't here to greet us…" Nia said crouching low as he touched the ground.
Oh yeah, I guess I forgot to mention that he had control over plants, as well as a small amount of control on animals.
Vines came out of the ground and grabbed all the creatures, crushing them under the pressure of the vines.
"Well that solves that problem I guess…" I said shrugging as a drop of blood landed on my shirt.
"Where do we go Scathath?" I asked as the woman looked around.
"I always wanted to visit this place…" She said with a dreamy look in her eyes that was nothing like her.
"Yeah, that's cool, where do we go?" I asked again, this time snapping her out of it.
"Oh right, we head north, currently we are in-"
Scathath didn't finish that sentence as a roar interrupted her words.
"Oh right, this place must be overrun with many monsters now that Arthur and the knights are not here… That will be a problem."
In front of us a large dragon, maybe 20 or so feet long, soared toward us roaring as it opened its mouth, its throat starting to burn red.
"Phew…" I sighed in relief as I saw the creature. "If that's all it is then…" I jumped off the ground toward the creature, opening my own mouth as my throat began to glow silver.
"… This will be a breeze!" I yelled as I shot my own breath attack at the dragon. I hadn't yet revived Havoc, it would take a couple weeks at least to build the dragon back again the way I wanted, plus I would make him tougher and stronger in order to go against the gods with me.
So, to substitute, I mimicked his own attacks using myself. It was basically the same thing, perhaps a little weaker.
"Let's go, Camelot awaits!" I yelled smiling a little as my heart began to beat fast, I was actually having fun, it was almost relaxing…
(Somwhere else in Albion)
"Ugh, disgusting mortals are ruining the land with their stench… Take them my knight, Lancelot…" A man said as he sat on a throne, covered by a robe and a hood.
In front of him a kneeling man nodded and stood up, raising his sword.
"Yes master," Lancelot said as he left the castle.
"Mortals coming into my lands and attacking my scouts? I've needed more troops anyway…" The man said to himself as he closed his eyes and fell back asleep, watching over Albion as he sat safely in one of the kingdoms…
(Back to mc)
Argen and the others walked up and down hills, through caves, and even swam through rivers, but it was all for nothing as they felt they hadn't moved much at all.
"Albion is way too big, will we ever get to Camelot?" Argen said as he sat down, annoyed at how long this was all taking.
"Not if you continue to sit on your ass, let's move!" Nia said as he was jogging in place.
He had been found by Scathath in a cave that he hadn't left since his supposed death. Quite a few demigods are immortal, but they never know it until they either die or live long enough without aging.
That had been the main reason he faked his death, he didn't want the gods to come down and mess with him, and chances are he wouldn't have lasted much longer without the citizens being suspicious anyway.
"Hey, don't forget who the leader is here man, but you're right…" Argen said as his eyes glowed and two wings appeared at his back.
"Let's go, just point me to Camelot and I'll-"
*Whish*
'Hm?' Argen thoughts as something flashed past his eyes faster than he could register and sliced into his body.
"Attacking someone like that with no warning? That's not how knights behave…" Nia said as he held a thick branch, blocking the blade from Argen's body.
"Stand back sir, I will show you how a knight truly goes into battle… I assume you're a knight by your stance correct?" Nia asked the hooded man as he dropped the branch.
"Really? I never said you're a knight man…" Argen said covering his face and stepping back.
"I am not a king, and I serve someone, seems like a knight to me… Now… What's with that sword you have?"
Scathath widened her eyes as she saw the sword, surprised at what the hooded figure had.
"What's with you?" Argen asked Scathath as Nia circled the hooded figure, trying to find an opening.
'Hmm, all my battles, I've never seen someone like this… If he had no openings…' Nia smiled and flexed his hand, a vine coming out of the ground and snapping toward the hooded figure. "Then I'll just make one," He finished the thought out loud as the hooded figure blocked the attack, allowing Nia to get a small grasp on his skills.
"That sword… Arthur had it when we met…" Scathath's thoughts wandered as Argen just looked at the sword with interest.
He knew the tales of Arthur, at least a little. 'Could that be Excalibur? Wait no, Arthur would have Excalibur, and he's no longer here in Albion…'
Argen watched the battle with newfound interest, his love for fighting that he'd gained throughout the years showing as he smiled and got ready to enjoy the battle.
"So you're a swordsman huh?" Nia asked politely as he reached to the side.
"Then let's test that out…" Grabbing ahold of another branch that he grew, Nia lunged forward, slicing it across the torso of the hooded figure…
