Chapter 68: Burning Bodies

Katherine watched David sitting at the juice bar and drinking while he conversed with Monica. Her eyes had been following him around but she failed to find him looking at her even once. 

She had thrown her dollar bills on this expensive night. She had been receiving attention from people around but only not from him. Even Maverick couldn't stay put without giving her a kiss when her sight caught his attention. Although she thought her mission for tonight was accomplished. 

She had the man of her dreams dancing on her fingers tonight. Every woman was envious of her beauty and the charm she carried gracefully along with her but she had failed everything when it comes to David. 

What happened to the guy who followed her around? Begged for her forgiveness? Brought her gifts to cheer her up? And mostly he did it all on his own will. Apparently, he still followed her around but it was clear as day on his face that he was forcing himself.
