Chapter 61: Lack Of Father's Love

He had kept this pony band since then. He wasn't able to return it back to her. He had given her the lucky charm bracelet the first time he met her and kept her belonging for himself. It was his supposed luck charm. 

He clutches the band in his fist and moves towards the box. He places the pony band into the box. He takes some time to relish the painting and then finally closes the lid of the boxes and pushes the box back inside the bed. 

"I am sorry. It is for the best. For me and for her." David muttered and went to lie down on his bed again only to toss and turn throughout the night. 

David's actions had become robotic. He was slowly becoming used to being treated ill. He knew it was what his older stepbrother had wanted and he succeeded in doing that.
