Chapter 4: Chapter 3

"I have a proposition for you, Tommy Innit."

I stand on the Prime Path in the pouring rain. Tommy Innit stands in front of me, drenched. He grins and tilts his head,

"Yeah?" I nod and smile mischievously, shoving my hands further into my pockets and bracing against the wind. I brought a coat with a hood, but it does little against the winds bony fingers that grope at me. Tommy stands there, only a little shorter than me, his blonde hair dark and plastered to his forehead from the rain.

"Come with me," I say. I step off the Prime Path and start down the opposite side of the hill to the steps. The hill side is slippery but after many trips up and down the treacherous path it becomes but muscle memory.

Tommy looks up when Tubbo calls his name from a different hill. The brunette boy's iron helmet is dripping with water from the rain and he has a bundle of blaze rods in his arms. It impresses me because blaze are aggressive creatures who belch fire. Tommy greets him with a wave and continues down the hill.

Through the trees in the valley and past the overflowing river is an old van. It's white and the paint job is slowly degrading, showing signs of age and weathering. There had been rumours that George and Sapnap, people who had lived in this land long before I arrived, had left it but those are rumours.

"What is this Will?" Tommy asks, intrigued. I could tell he was antsy to start scheming so I didn't hesitate.

"This is the future Tommy," I declare, spreading my arms out wide and showing off the old van. "I found this a while ago and after I saw Dream's tyranny in person, I decided that I was going to do something about it."

I looked at Tommy and dramatically say,

"Will you start a new nation with me?"

"Like a rebellion?" Tommy asks, squinting his eyes, scanning my face to see if I'm joking. I nod and raise my eyebrows in anticipation, I know he'll say yes, he's witnessed the dictatorship first-hand and it must anger him so.

"So, are you in?" He nods slowly then starts to gain a look of excitement and confusion.

"But what does it have to do with the van?" He asks suspiciously, eyeing the van with curiosity and caution. I slap him on the back, causing him to stumble,

"I'm glad you asked! This will be our base of operations," I boom, "Come in, Come in!" I open the heavy metal door and walk into the somewhat cramped van.

"Brewing stands?" Tommy asks, looking at the three brewing stands with a concoction of potions brewing.

"You see Tommy, Dreams had us under his thumb ever since we got here. I think it's time to push back. Now we obviously can't do that without certain things. So, here's my 'to do' list: One!"

I hold up one finger in Tommy's face,

"We need land, something physical to fight for! And this land is uninhabited, as far as I know." I thunder, I can feel myself gaining momentum, getting excited. Tommy still looks sceptical, but I continue on.

"Two!" Two fingers in his face now, "We need materials, especially potions. If we can't beat Dream and his goons in hand-to-hand combat, we'll beat him in resources and out last him!" I grin down at the child before me, waiting for a response.

"Is that it? How are we supposed to do this by ourselves?" He rolls his eyes slightly, but my grin only widens.

"Well, we could recruit the eavesdropper," I say casually. Tommy looks startled, he starts to say something, but I call out to the spy, "Tubbo?"

I chuckle as I hear a gasp, then some crashes and a curse. Tubbo then stumbles in the door bashfully and stares at the ground.

"Hi guys!" He says faking a casual atmosphere, without looking up. I look at him, a kind and determined young man. Brown hair and a little bee peaking from his green shirt. His blaze rods are still in his hands.

"I swear I did not mean to eaves drop on you!" I look over at Tommy, our eyes meet, and we smirk at Tubbo's horrible lying, "But, Wilbur, what you're proposing does sound rather intriguing…"

I nod my head. 3 people in the cause is a lot more than just one, that's just basic math. I was on the up!

"Ok then," I smile at the young, eager boys in front of me. "We are going to need those blaze rods, Tubbo."

"So, there's me, you and Tubbo," Tommy says to me counting on his fingers, "Three people isn't enough to rebel against the standing government."

"I say we ask Eret." I propose, "He seems like a good man, with lots of resources."

"How about Niki, Wilbur?" Tubbo suggests.

"And Jack Manifold!" Tommy exclaims.

"Sounds like we each have someone to ask."

~~~~~
The rain had stopped now, barely a drizzle. After the meeting with Tommy and Tubbo in the van, yesterday, I sent a message to Eret saying that we must meet. We met in the community house, one of the oldest building in the land, for people who needed somewhere to stay. We sat at a table there and I explained the position I was in, the fact that we needed a rebellion. I told him that I knew he must feel the same way, deep in his soul.
He sat there, barely moving, mouth set in a straight line. With the sunglasses and his hair obstructing half of his face, he was hard to read. We sat in silence as he thought about it, but I could see the ghost of a smile on his face
"I would love to stand with you gentlemen."
