Chapter 4: Is It Fate Or Coincidence?
Maddie POV
Someone knocked at the door "Come in" since I can't open it because I'm busy
"Ms. Thompson, I already send the report through your email and new theme for the party event next week is The Royal Majestic of Love" my secretary said and handling all my schedule
"Ah yes thank you secretary" I said and closed the door
"Maddie, come here!" wait, I just need to finish this music video. It took me a month to work on it since I need to post it on our YouTube channel
"Give me a minute, I just need to finish something. Also, are you done with the business proposal next month? Since the board of directors what a progress about event in the California and the two exhibit that will be held in korea and Los Angeles, don't forget that okay?" I said
"Oh shoot, I forgot about that business proposal"
"I already told you to do it last week ago and now you're busy doing something else"
"Okay, I'll do it tonight and send it to you afterwards" janina said and I just finish the video now since our subscribers been waiting for this video
"Ms. Thompson, the CEO of J Fashion Group wants to meet you next week for the project they want to collaborate with" she said and I just nodded which mean I agree
"Ah finally, I'm done" I said and yawned because I'm getting sleepy
"Come here, because I need to tell you something" can she just give me 3 minutes to rest? I have no choice but to do so
"Coming janina"
I went to her office when is just near at my office
"What is it?" I asked her but she just keep smiling while staring at her phone
"Why ar...." she hugged me suddenly
"We finally reach 900M views on our vlog trip to Korea" she said with excitement on her voice
"Really? That's great" I smiled, and we should celebrate later. I didn't know that people will love our vlog that would reach 900M views and its beyond my expectation that made me smile.
"I'm going ba.." she pulled me and let me sit. What is it now? Because I want to take a rest for a bit since I didn't sleep for months because of my hectic schedule but now I can finally sleep
"Btw, maddie? Uhmm.. How can I....say this?" she keeps blabbering something that I couldn't even understand
"I'm sorry" janina said and begging. I don't get what she means by that, but I think she done something that I don't like
"I set you up for a blind date" oh, I'm not surprised by that, she set me up like more than 10 times in a blind date
"Oh, I see" I said and sneak peek that made her nervous because she knew I hate this
"Maddie, I'm so..." I just hold her hand and smiled
"No, it's fine, I'll just go to the blind date and send me the details" I said, and she hugged me tightly. I know she's trying her best to find me a partner, but I don't need one since I'm busy with my life
"I need to go now" I left the office and about to go out for a walk since I been 3 months on my office just to entertain some fans and created vlogs for every trip we go.
"Ms. Thompson, we need to gua..." I stopped them before they follow me around
"No, it's fine, I just want to be alone. Don't worry, I'll be around and nearby" I said to my bodyguard so that they could just take a rest for awhile
"Ms. Thompson, just tell us if you need help" I smiled at them without making them worry. Janina is calling me right now like I just left for a minute ago
"I forgot to tell you that the Sassy Girls will be coming back next month. So, we need to plan for their comeback" Maybe I need to take day off but I'm the CEO of my own company Dream Entertainment Agency
I'll just walk here in the park and clear my mind when I bumped into someone, but he helped me stand up "Are you alright?" I have a small wound on my elbow then he noticed it "Oh wait here, you should sit there first" he said and left
He's a weird man indeed and it's my fault because I didn't watch where I'm going and too much of thinking
I didn't know he came back "Let see" he hold my hand and put an ointment on my small bruises on my elbow and hand
"Ouch" "Sorry" he said, and I just smile so that he doesn't need to feel worry.
"I should be the one who's saying that and I'm sorry, because I didn't watch where I'm going" I said. He lifted his head and smiled at me
I suddenly feel sad and my head hurts. When tears started to fall
"Are you alright? Why are you crying? Is there something wrong?" he asked and feel worried. This is so embarrassing, and I don't know why I suddenly cry when I saw his face. I wiped my tears and stand up "Oh sorry about that"
"It's fine" he said "I need to go now" I left him there and went for a walk again without asking his name maybe next time because I need to relax for now
My phone is ringing again, who could be this time?
Why do monday always be the busiest day that any people have? This is getting grumpy, and it feels like a nagging reminder for me that it put you in a situation where real life isn't something we should expect.
I answered the phone call and don't know who's calling me
"Hi, who is this?"
"Sweetie, its me your mom" – mom
"Sorry about that mom, I forgot to save your number"
"It's fine, I hear some noise. Are you outside? Where is your bodyguard?" – mom
My mom is protective because she doesn't want me to go out without my bodyguard but it's kind of suffocating. I don't have a freedom to do everything I want
"I gave them a day off for 1 month" but the truth is that they're in the company because my mom won't stop reminding me a lot of things especially my surroundings
When everytime I'm alone I always get into an accident which I don't know. That is why I have 10 bodyguards with me
"Why? Sweetie, you might get into accident again like what happen in your blind date" – mom
She doesn't need to mention that
"No, it's fine, I'm just here at the park taking a walk"
"That's good. By the way sweetie, sorry to tell you but there's a new ceo on your company" – mom
Should I be mad? But I'm happy because I could take a day off for it
"No mom, It's fi.."
"Sorry sweetie" – mom
"It's fine and it's a great idea. I could take a day off for now"
"Don't tell me you're too lazy to do a work today?" – mom
If you only knew, I didn't have enough sleep for three weeks
"Not really mom. Can I just you know go back there and do nothing?" trying to be cute
"No no sweetie, you still have a lot of things to do in your entertainment. I heard that the sassy girls are famous everywhere. That's a great job and proud of you sweetie" – mom
"Or maybe just day off mom?"
"Sweetie you know I love you, see you next week" - mom then she end the call without even giving me a break
I should be liking monday, but this monday is the worst history in my life. When my mom didn't even give me a break that I wish I would have now
Janina is calling me again. Does she need anything else?
"Hel..." "You need to come back to the office now because the new CEO will be here any minute" she said and end the call without letting me finish what I'm saying
I hurried and run but suddenly trip and fell because I didn't see where I'm going again. Am I unlucky today?
"Are you alright" when someone lend a hand to help me, but my feet feel stiff and cramp
"Ah... ah...help... me" I said because there's a cramp
He suddenly carried me which make me feel embarrassed "You don't need to" he didn't talk but let me seat
"Sorry for letting you carry me" I apologize
He just massaged my feet "I know you can't walk properly unless the cramp is gone. Maybe I should better take care of you"
"Madeline" I hear someone is calling me then look around you who it was but there seems to be no one
"Madeline, I'm here" then my tears fall which I don't know why? I keep hearing someone else voice and it feels like I have connection to it but I'm not sure because madeline is not my name
"Can you walk??"
"Miss?"
My head hurts but I'm trying to be calm and took a medicine out of my bag. He hands me water
"Are you alright? I don't think you can walk on your own" He carry me again
"What is your name?" "I'm Maddie Thompson, but just call me maddie"
I can't think clearly because my head hurts "Maddie, let's take a walk" I took another medicine since the doctor said I should if my head hurts for multiple times. But he just holds my hand, did he notice it?
"The best thing to do is to relax and do the breathing three times" he said, and I did what he said, and the headache seems to be less pain
"Thank you" I said. I thought I'm going to die. The most embarrassing day of my life that I trip and fell twice then someone carry me just to help me
But the guy didn't mind about me then I just smiled just to be less embarrassed in front of him
"I need to go now" I stand up and hurried going to the company since it is just close here.
Here I am again, I forgot to ask his name so that I could repay him
"What took you so long?" I can see janina face feel worried
"Ah, I just rest there" I made an excuse to her so that she won't nagged at me, but she hugged me
"What happened to you? Why do you have many bruises? Did someone kidnap you? Did someone hurt you? Tell me maddie, I'm going to hunt that person whoever it is" she is overreacting again, and I just stop her because the staffs here start to stare at her
"Just relax, okay? Breath first because you're overreacting again even it's not a big deal. Okay, I just trip off my way going to the park because I want to relax for a bit but I bumped to someone which it is my fault and he help me. That's it and no more question okay please" I said because she won't stop interrogating me if that happens
"I thought something happen to you already and I'm glad you're fine. We should go to the hospital later to treat your wounds" when janina is about to cry now then I gave my handkerchief so that she'll stop tearing her eyes when she cries like that
My secretary suddenly approached telling me that the CEO is already here. They bow their heads as I approach the front door to wait the new CEO come in then I saw a car outside. Maybe that's him
"He's here" I said to everyone, they keep their position around
"Goodafternoon Mr. Haver" then lift their head
"Omg, he is handsome" as my staff whispered and look at them with a smile so that they can act normal in front of the CEO
"Mr. Haver, it's nice to meet you. I'm Madeline Thompson the former CEO of the company. I would like to welcome you to the Dream Entertainment Agency, and we have girl group who debuted almost 2 years ago" I said
"I'll introduced you to them next time when they come back here since they still have a concert schedule until next month"
"Let me escort you to your office" I continued but I noticed he keeps looking at me and smiling like he knows me already. I find it weird at the same time I can't stop smiling like I seen him before. I just lead the way to the office and give signal to my staff. They go back to their position
"As you can see, this is the biggest entertainment here in California and I have other entertainment in other country like Korea, Philippines, England and others. I would be glad if you feel comfortable here and have some time to enjoy yourself" I smile even I'm not feeling well today because this morning I didn't have enough sleep because of handling a lot of proposal, advertisement, ambassador and such as
I pulled myself together so that I won't be drowsy when I accompany him
"Are you alright? It seems to me that you're not feeling well" Mr. Haver said that sound feel worry
"Oh no I'm fine Mr. Haver, I'll try my best to assist you with all your need" I say without making myself feel embarrassed
"Can you just leave us first?" he said, I think that his secretary
"I don't know if you remember, but I think this is coincidence. We met two times already" which makes me confused at all. I don't understand what he meant by that but seems to me he's familiar
"How is your wound and bruises? Especially your headache" he asked and how does he know?
"By the way, I'm Albert Haver, nice to meet you Maddie Thompson" he introduces himself then I act normal so that he won't say that I'm a weird person
"We will be having a welcome dinner party tonight at the Reinna Jazz Restaurant near at a beach.
We will meet you at 6pm since it's already 4:30pm. That would be all Mr. Haver and just call through that phone if you need anything" I said and point out the phone on his table
"I'll see you later Mr. Haver" I went out to his office and all my staffs are out of his office. I looked at them and they just smiled at me while scratching their back
"Is he single?" "Isn't he handsome?" "I hope he is not yet married" I just laughed at them
"Jasmine come with me" I said, and she did what I say
"Maddie, I think he..."
"Kindly ask for a reservation in Reinna Jazz Restaurant at 6pm for the welcome dinner party for Mr. Haver and I'll be there right now" I said then hurried going to the parking to leave the company early I didn't let her finish talking
"Please take me to Reinna Jazz Restaurant and tell me the direction" thank you because I have a waze here
It will only take 30 minutes going to there so it might get me there early than I ask. My mom is calling me again and what does she need right now? She just called awhile ago and now again. Doesn't she get tired?
"Oh mom, what is it?"
"Did you meet the new CEO?" – mom
"Yes, I already meet him and ask janina for the reservation for the welcome dinner party for Mr. Haver"
"That's good, since he already told me that you did a great job" – mom
It's my first-time hearing someone compliment me which made me feel happy
"Since you have done a great job then you can take a break for next month after the comeback of sassy girls" – mom
Did I hear my mom correctly? or its just me who have a problem on hearing?
"You're joking right mom?"
"Okay I should tak..." – mom
"I love you mom" I can see myself feel the excitement
"Okay bye mom, I'm already here"
"I love you sweetie" – mom
Then she ends the call now and park my car while waiting for them. I walk on the beach then I feel the warm breeze. I really love the beach here because its feels like I've been here before. I mean I always visit this beach because it's my favorite spots among all the beach but why do I feel like I've been here before with someone
I saw someone walking towards me and a guy smiling at me. Tears suddenly fell on my eyes that made feel lonely and sad but deep inside my heart is broke into pieces.
He is waving at me "Maddie, come here. I miss you" how did he know my name?? He's not familiar with me. He keeps smiling which I can't stop crying like I know someone long time ago
"Madeline, I'm here" Ah, my head hurts
"Madeline" his calling my name again while smiling at me. I try to reach out to him
"Maddie" I touch his face feels like I'm longing and waiting for him that made me feel lost for a bit
"Why are you crying?" He asked me but I can't say anything
"Are you alright?" That's when my conscious went back but myself feels heavy and my mind feel empty for awhile
"Maddie" he's calling my name again
"Maddie, why are you crying? Is there a problem?" why do my heart feel so heavy, I forgot to bring my medicine, so I need to overcome this, and I don't want my staff to know about this. I start to take a deep breathe and relax myself because if I don't, I might end up collapsing here and they might figure it out.
"Ah...ah" I hold my chest and try to do the breathing
"Are you alright?" he told me, but I stand up and act normal
Maddie you must overcome this before it causes a problem
"Oh yes, I'm fine. May I know who you are?" I asked before he do something to me then he made a distance between us
"It's me Albert Haver, it's my third time meeting you. Don't you think this is fate? or just a coincidence meeting you here?" he said, and I couldn't say anything at all
"Oh Mr. Haver, you're here already I didn't know and also you Ms. Thompson" jasmine said
I can finally breathe in, and my heart feel light again. Everything became pain when I met this guy, but I don't know why. We just met but why I do feel like I've known him for a long time causing these thoughts in my mind right now. I just look at him closely and I can't figure everything out right now maybe I'll just see it to myself as days passed by
"Let's go now, they been waiting for you Mr. Haver and Ms. Thompson" janina said and we went inside the restaurant to celebrate his welcome dinner party
