Chapter 164: Proposal (1)

It didn't take long before Alana's excitement died down. She had asked innumerable questions and he answered them—as much as he could without letting her in on anyone's secrets. 

By the time he had to leave, he knew there was no way Alana would accept his proposal. 

"There's no need for me to propose, is there?" He raised a brow at her. 

"Of course there is." She looked at him like he was asking the obvious. "I will say yes." 

He was confused. "Why would you agree after everything I just told you? Aren't you bothered by who I am….or the fact that my mate is someone else and I will probably pine for her all our lives?" 

She hummed as she thought about it. "I need to know one more thing. If we get married, will I grow gray and old while you continue to look young and handsome, to the point that some people may mistake you for my grandson?"
