Chapter 63: The fire demoness

"Don't." She stopped him from getting close to her. 

"You cannot hurt me." He whispered in reassurance. "I'm certain of it." 

That didn't stop her from trying to get away from him. She stepped back until her wings touched the door and a stabbing pain shot through her. It took all her effort for her to not cry out, but he knew she was in pain and closed in on her. 

"We need to leave. Right now." He cupped her face for a heartbeat and grabbed her sword, knowing she didn't want to ever go anywhere without it. 

"Where will we go?" She asked. She didn't think there was anywhere they could go where she would be safe without putting the world in danger.

"Anywhere." He helped her grab a few pieces of clothing before immediately throwing them back into the wardrobe. "We cannot let anyone know you are Princess Delaney. Do you have any simple dresses?" 

Ylvia rushed in as they rummaged for a simpler dress, carrying several in her hands.
