Chapter 2: Growth
As I was eating the fish I just caught I was wondering how long I have to train. My plan kinda depends on Bulma giving me at least a year before we start our adventure.
Also, how is my first meeting with Bulma gonna go? I don't wanna just get surprised and act like an idiot. I want to have a plan just so I don't mess anything up. Hmm, now what do I tell her? How about...
"I am Son Goku, protector of the dragon balls… Why does that sound so chuuni?"
Hmm, no, maybe not that. It should be more like.
"The Son family have protected the dragon balls for generations. If you seek to make a wish with them you will have to take me with you… I guess that's good enough. Still sounds chuuni tho."
So it'll be something along those lines then. I'm fine with that. Now I need to start training. But first, to make sure I train hard, I'll make a promise.
"I make a promise to everything in existence, even to Fishy. I will train at least just as hard as the original Goku and I'll make sure that I do whatever is in my power to protect those who deserve it."
That sounded so cringe but I'll keep my promise. Now it's time to train.

I have never been so scared yet excited to see a full moon. I don't know when it'll show up. Every night I go to a clearing in the woods to meditate and wait for the sun to set just in case. Today isn't any different. I sat down in the clearing with a ki ball the size of a football floating around me.
Even though my ki ball has gotten so much bigger the difference in strength isn't as apparent.
"Bigger isn't always better, it's the technique that matters."
But it's still a good exercise to train ki control. The excitement of having ki has faded a bit since I've started training but that isn't really important.
"Oh, I think the sun is about to set. It's almost time to see if today is the day I'll transform."
I looked at the moon and saw it's round, glowing face in all its glory. It was that moment I knew I couldn't control it. I just felt an immense amount of rage flow through me. My ki ball exploded and meditation broke when my concentration got disturbed by the sudden rage. As I sat there staring at the full moon I felt so much energy in my body yet I couldn't control it.
"Rgh!"
I growled as I tried to look away from the moon but my body wasn't listening to me anymore. The longer I stared the less I could hold on to my consciousness. In my last moments of consciousness, I thought
'GODDAMMIT!! I'll be able to control it the next time I swear…'

90 days after the last transformation

I never expected my growth to be so fast and so satisfying. I've grown so much stronger and ki isn't special to me anymore it's an everyday thing now.
Anyway, I was sitting down in a clearing at sunset with my eyes closed. I'm pretty sure today is gonna be another full moon and I'm even more sure that today is the day I'll control it and prove that my training wasn't for nothing.
Before I opened my eyes and started transforming I just relaxed myself a little bit. I was sitting in the shade of a tree, listening to the soft rustling of the leaves. Sitting on soft grass.
"I finally touched the grass."
When I thought I had calmed down enough I looked straight at a full moon hanging down from the sky. While I was looking at the full moon I felt so much fucking rage but it was bearable I just had to try to stay calm.
As I transformed I found that this rage instead of becoming more suffocating it became more manageable. I sat there in my great ape form. At first I didn't comprehend what I just accomplished. I had overcome anger and rage. I had accomplished something truly great.
"How?"
I asked myself that question, but being able to vocalise it shocked me even more.
"I am Son Goku!"
I roared into the surroundings and I heard my voice reverberate throughout the entire forest. My voice was so deep and rough, it felt weird calling it my voice. I had a childlike excitement as I jumped around in celebration.
After I calmed down I started testing my limits and training throughout the night.

As I was charging a blast of ki I suddenly had a brilliant Idea. If the Kamehameha is so strong because you rotate the ki in it then why not just do it for normal ki blasts? So that was what I decided to do as I was charging the ki blast, I used my ki to make it rotate.
As it spun, it got faster and faster until I decided I had enough of charging it up and just launched it at a boulder. When the ki blast left my hand and hit the builder there was a big explosion.
*BOOM*
"That blast was stronger than the normal ones but I can't help but feel like it's missing something. I know I can get it stronger but how do I go about it? Hmm... Wait, why am I so stupid I just have to condense it to make it more powerful."
Okay, this time instead of more ki making it larger, how about using some of that ki to condense it. Making it hopefully a couple of times stronger.
As I charged another ki blast, this time instead of just making it larger or spinning it, half of it went to condensing it. As I charged the ki blast I felt a limit on how much I could condense it. When I hit that limit I used my ki to launch the blast and when it hit the boulder I was shocked by the results. The boulder exploded into a million pieces.
*Boom*
"What!? How could such a simple adjustment make it so much more powerful?"
I was left in shock and amazement at the damage I had done to the boulder. This was definitely something I should experiment with.
