Chapter 9: The World of Paper Lore 1
All great artists have the ability to create a world that only they can see. Some draw that better than others. When one elderly gentleman realized that he was not one of those he cried. For his years of practice had amounted to nothing, and so only his half drawn sketches and doodles could carry his emotions of what he wished to portray. It was in that bout of despair and finally giving in that something changed and he seemed to channel the energy of the world into his last drawing. One of a kingdom great and prosperous that fought by the way of art.
Yet, before he could even rejoice a little his heart gave out and he died. The painting absorbed his blood with the energy of his surroundings to form a world within the pages of his life. All his works flew from his room into the drawing and yet it seemed to yearn for more. It yearned for the ideas once tossed away by its maker that were needed for its completion. It wished for details to be filled in, and parts of the work to become real drawings and not just doodles. It wanted completion.
Later creatures crawled forth from the pages looking for its missing pieces. Some stronger than others. Thinking they were normal dungeon creatures many residents of the world slayed them, but some escaped and formed their own society in our world. Now many of these creatures travel between their home and the groups formed for their own safety while acting as people of this world. Their concepts took up images of other people around that fit that category to properly hide themselves.
Now that these events are in the past it is time to make a new tale. What will you do when you encounter the Paper and the people within. Will you kill them as another normal dungeon or will you do otherwise. That We'll see.
