Sap- So... Let's just ignore what happened some moments ago... And... Do what we were supposed to do...
Ken- Yeah... We should write it now...
Ken's cat comes to him and sits on his lap. Ken starts petting her.
Ken- So... The story goes kinda like this---
Kaori- Umm... Get her off your lap...
Ken- W-Why?
Kaori- You know that better than I do...
Ken- Oh well... Time to go kitty...
Ken tries to get the cat off of his lap but she resists.
Ken- Uhm... You don't want to get off? Oh well... Hey Haisha... Do me a favour... You'll find some sushi in the refrigerator... Just burn that... And then wash the ash away... Don't let it stay anywhere near my home...
Haisha- Okay...
Haisha goes out of the room and the cat follows after him in a hurry.
Sap- So...?
Ken- The story is about love between two soldiers. They meet on the battlefield... They are from different countries, so they are destined to be enemies... But... After multiple draws, they start respecting each other...
Sap- Seems good...
Ken- Let's make them army commanders...
Sap- So... You're taking two of the most popular themes right now?
Ken- We have to attract those clueless first years... So... Love and war are the only things they are interested in...
Sap- I like your thought process... How about we add a bit of drama?
Ken- Them being on different sides will add enough drama...
Sap- So... The only thing we're missing is tragedy...
Ken- How about we have them die?
Sap- Ah... Not a twisted ending enough... And... Why not let the war end?
Ken- How about if it ends in a peace treaty... And... The condition is executing both of them...
Sap- How about they both think about committing suicide before they're sentenced to death?
Ken- And they meet before dying...
Sap- They went to the same spot...
Ken- And they confessed?
Sap- And they confessed?
Ken- Nah... That doesn't feel right...
Sap- But... It'll make the people cry...
Ken- How about we make them suffer more? They'll have fun fighting each other for the last time... And... When they are dying, they will try to confess... But... Will fail...
Sap- So... They don't get to do it?
Ken- Yeah... And let's make that scene dramatic and sad as hell... But... The audience will know that they loved each other... To death… Literally...
Sap- Ah... I can get behind that idea...
Ken- I know right!! So... Shall we start writing?
Sap- Yeah... Let's make some adjustments later...
Ken- Yeah... Why not?
Kaori- So... Are you done thinking about the story?
Ken- Yeah...
Kaori- That was quick...
Sap- So... Where is Haisha?
Kaori- Ah... I forgot about him...
Haisha comes walking in, with scratches all over his body.
Haisha- I told her I wasn't actually gonna burn it...
Ken- Ah... She might've been a bit too angry...
Haisha- She literally bullied me... I wanna cry, can I?
Sap- Only girls cry...
Haisha- How could you say that to someone on the brink of death you hypocrite?!
Sap- Just kidding... Go on... Cry it all out...
Haisha- I don't want to cry anymore... My sadness turned to anger...
Sap- Ah... Angering a sad person works every damn time...
Haisha- You did that to make me not cry?
Sap- Yup!!
Haisha- T-Thanks... Sorry for getting angry at you...
Sap- That's part of the procedure...
Cat- Not bad actually... I should try doing that when Ken gets sad...

Ken- What are you talking about?
Kaori- Did you go mad? It isn't speaking...

Kaori- Seems like it...
Haisha- Yeah...
Ken- Umm... Let's just stop doing that to him... Sap... That cat isn't actually a cat... She is the daughter of a maid who works for the Yamada clan... She followed me when I left the clan...
Sap- Oh...
Cat- Yup...
Sap- So... What is her name?
Ken- Well... She is called Yamaneko... Yama as in Yamada and Neko as in Cat...
Sap- Ah... Makes sense... So... What about Yamainu? It's Inu as in dog... Right?
Ken- Yup... But that isn't his real name... He never had one... I met him a couple of years ago... He was in the streets... He was thrown out of his home... He went around, begging, attacking people for food and stuff... I ended up taking him in as he showed potential...
Yamaneko- And that was the worst decision you ever made...
Ken- Yeah... Who thought that he would be this disloyal? It's like owning not a dog but a snake...
Yamaneko- Let's kick him out!!
Ken- Well... Where will he go if we kick him out?
Yamaneko- Won't Kana take her in?
Ken- Nah... She won't... And... You should get back into your human form...
Yamaneko- Yeah... I might have problems walking if I keep this up...
Sap- Why is that?
Ken- Well... The body structure of a cat is different from that of a human... She has problems adjusting when she stays in that form for too long...
Sap- Why turn into a cat at all?
Ken- Well... I don't know... Ask her...
Sap- Why do you turn into a cat at all?
Yamaneko- It's just fun I guess? You can ask for cuddles all you want and Ken is weak towards cute things...
Ken- You weren't supposed to say that...
Kaori- Uhm... Well... That was good to know... It's getting late... I should leave… I'm not needed here anyways… I thought of this as my home because I loved someone who didn't love me back… He was just weak towards cute things…
Ken- Umm... Why don't you eat something?
Kaori- Nah... I don't need it… I don't think I should stay here any longer…
Ken- I will cook...
Kaori- Really?
Ken- You were after this all along, weren't you?
Kaori- Oh well... Seems like I'll have to leave now… It was nice knowing you all… But it seems like you'll just become a memory for me now… A sad one which was somehow happy at the same time---
Ken- Okay!! I'll cook!!
Kaori- Oh really? I think I can stay here for some time then...
Ken- ....
Haisha- Then I won't have to cook...
Ken- Help me...
Haisha- I won't have to cook...
Ken- You too?
Haisha- These scars... These scars all over my body... I gotta take revenge...
Yamaneko- Nya~~
Ken- Uh... Oh well... Okay... I will do it by myself...

Ken- I'll do both... It's not that hard actually...
Sap- I'm actually worried about what we will have to eat...
Ken- Don't worry about that...
