Chapter 141: Routine Slime Extermination

Today was supposed to be a normal day. Just a routine slime cleaning duty my superiors told me.

Make sure there are no casualties this time they told me. I still can't figure out why we are not using specialized warriors for this. There is a beast tamer branch that is fairly big too, can't we just get them to take care of the problem?!

The problem is that their fees are too expensive for how hard the work is.

Slimes are pretty useless besides getting rid of the trash. While they are good for our sewers there is nothing else we can do with one. The main issue is that slimes don't have a brain. How they bounce from place to place in search of food is a complete mystery. It just does.

This makes it so a slime cannot be trained. Because of how weak it is containing one in a specially made cage is relatively easy, but even then, it is troublesome. Leave a small crack in the cage and it will squeeze its way out. Feed it a bit carelessly and it will grow too much.
