Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Reconciliation

The impression Kai had after leaving the room was that he was inside the national library. He was on the third floor in a very large circular room, In the center, one could see the bottom floor. There were stairs that lead down to the floor below, and all of the surrounding walls were completely covered by bookshelves.

“Aimee?”

Kai began slowly walking on small steps in that sumptuous place. The more he walked on those circular corridors, the bigger the whole place seemed to be.

“Woah…”

Kai got so impressed with the sight of so many books gathered in a single place that he didn’t notice there was someone right beside him.

“Sir?”

His body shook instinctively.

“Oh, sorry! Didn’t see you there.”

It was a woman in her thirties, dressed in a fancy uniform. She nodded without saying anything. She kept standing there like she was waiting for an order or something.

“Uh…” Kai asked: “Have you seen Aimee?”

“She is in the room at the end of that corridor.”
